Re: Export Selection produces tracks out of sync./ wrong len
Most of the multitude do not do multi-track recording. There are a LOT of folks using Audacity for multi-track recording. I have been answering Audacity questions over on the one forum on Ultimate-Guitar.com for well over a year now and it's a first stop for people who what to get into recording on...

Re: Sound problems on 2nd track
I tried all the advice, problem persists. I even uninstalled my SpyBot software, just in case. I believe I have plenty of systems resources...3 gb of memory, dual processor. As an experiment, I recorded one track and output to WAV, then played that back on my Windows player through my headphones as...

Re: USB Driver not installing
This is "Please Help #2". The Edit/Preferences/Recording Device suggestion helped me. Thank you very much. I can now record - but I still cannot hear it if I just want to play the record through my computer. This is covered in the USB turntable page quoted near the top of this thread i.e....

Re: Mixtape Label Challange!
I have been buringing continuous mixes with no prob, and I could try exporting the track info as you stated. Except this would still not give me functional breaks interms of the CD player reading the disc (this is right isn't it). No. The cue sheet will instruct the CD burner to create separate tra...

Re: Generation Loss in AUP to WAV to Aup to Wav?
There are a few pieces of information stored in projects which you can't store in the WAV. One is labels (created with CTRL + B, or CTRL + M when playing or recording) at points or regions in the waveform. Even here though, some editors that support an extension of WAV called Broadcast WAV can read ...

Re: Mixtape Label Challange!
To reiterate what Koz said, audio CDs have *no* way of moving from one specified point to another unless such points are separate tracks. Burning the CD from one WAV with DAO, using a cue sheet, is the best way to try what you want to do. The CD format can't understand Audacity label points, but all...

Re: How Do I Post An Equalizer?
Exporting and importing EQ presets should be fairly easy, and is already done in 1.3.6 in the custom FFmpeg exporter - an exported preset is just a self-contained XML file, which can be imported in using the Import Presets button - the code for the preset is then slotted into the ffmpeg_presets.xml ...

Re: Mixtape Label Challange!
You can't really guarantee *any* player will play *any* type of CD containing multiple tracks seamlessly. Some will, but it depends how they handle audio buffering. But if you play the CD on a computer, in a program which uses digital signal processing (DSP) to eliminate the gaps between tracks, the...

Re: Triple Boot Mac...Yo!
When you capture the profile, it should be captured in memory and retained for the session only. The exception is when you run Clean Speech mode (Interface tab of Preferences). Then the profile should exist as noisegate.nrp in an "NRP" folder at ~/Library/Application Support/audacity (and...

Re: Generation Loss in AUP to WAV to Aup to Wav?
If your Default Sample Format in the Quality Preferences is 16-bit and you are recording at 44100 Hz sample rate, then yes exporting as PCM WAV 16-bit 44100 Hz should be identical to the audio in the project _data folder. If your Default Sample Format was 32-bit Float, then you would have to export ...
