Re: Bug Report -- VISTA
Ray Although we have not done anything explicitly to address this, we haven't yet been able in development builds to reproduce this crash if there are no recording or playback devices present on Vista. Would you be able to try out this development build and see if you can reproduce the crash? I see ...

Re: Preferences in Vista Ultimate 64bit, program crashes!
Turns out this crash appears to be purely related to the presence of a recording source. If there is no recording source present, opening preferences crashes this version in this environment. Thanks for posting the solution. We'd become aware of this from a number of posts. However although we have...

if you have not already found it by now (sorry for late reply) ... Clicking the "Download" button in the FFmpeg section of Import / Export Preferences will also take you there.

Re: Does audacity support multicore processors?
I was wondering if audacity can use all the cores of a core 2 quad processor for resource heavy tasks.. Audacity isn't heavily threaded, so although it will make some use of multiple processors, the usage will not be equal between them, and so you won't see the full benefit. Roughly speaking, there...

Re: Recording Playback Problem
Really, you have never given us enough to go on. Is this Windows Vista? We have had a recent report on Vista that playing while recording has better playback quality in Audacity 1.3.6, or if you stick with 1.2.6, that playing in Media Player while recording in Audacity will give better playback qual...

Re: playback speeds way too high
I have a similar problem. I was able to record a song from a 78rpm album onto my iTunes but the length of song was totally different. Itunes shows song length as 2:58, song length on album is 6:04. I did save the song as a WAV but when I play it on my iTunes, it plays in warp speed. Are you on Wind...

Re: Audacity Crashed - recovered manually
It looks to me like there's only a way to import the files all at the same time using a mac with the correct utility? Is this correct? Is there a way I can take the 241 items and put them back together using my PC and Audacity rather than having cut and paste them one by one? You have to use the co...

Re: MAy I use Audacity in a book?
I am writing a book and would like to include how to use it in a chapter.I think I understand that I can make a CD that contains it for distrubition with the book as long as I include the source code as well(please let me know if I am wrong about this). Yes you may include a CD containing Audacity ...

Re: Remote startup and recoding with Audacity Unstable (1.3.
I am sending audio to a remote PC on the network. I can issue commands to the remote PC using psexec, for example, from a script file running on the source PC. I need to play out a large number of .wav files at scheduled times at the source PC, and then record them at the remote PC. Can I remotely ...
