Re: output sound volume
Yes. Sorry, brainfart. So, the files are in /Library/Preferences/Audio? That's the only place those files should be, so yes you can delete them, reboot and let the Mac recreate them. Gale Fine, thank you Gale. I'll let you know what's the result. Yes. Sorry, brainfart. So, the files are in /Library...

Re: Noise reduction not working
If you use the mouse, you have to actually drag a visible selection from the editing cursor (the point where you clicked).psblue wrote:Using the cursor to select won't work.
If you don't drag, then Noise Profile will select all.

Re: Silence trail following multiple track exports
Try selecting all the tracks and then Export Multiple. Export Multiple completely ignores whether tracks are selected or not. Also Export Multiple can't export by labels and tracks, only by labels or tracks. It sounds like this problem: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.2#Label_Tr...

Re: Audacity crash on export attempt.
Also, if Audacity offers to save a "Debug Report" when it crashes, make a note of where the debug ZIP file is saved and attach it for us. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 . What format are are you exporting to? Have you t...

Re: Audacity & iPad
Thanks for the log files. As you can see, libsndfile takes the ".aiff" file. This is not an Audacity bug. As I explained, libsndfile cannot cope with IMA ADPCM in AIFF files. When the file has ".aifc" extension (after "conversion" by QuickTime or rename in Finder) the l...

Re: Format Error in MP3 players
Please stop swearing in your messages. This is not an Audacity problem. We don't actually have to help you with this at all. I cannot see your image (it's "unavailable") even when logged into Facebook. You can attach images in standard image formats. And you could attach an example MP3 up ...

Re: Help with Plugins - macOS Sierra
Rebooting makes no difference, Gale. I still have to use Terminal. And yesterday evening, the Terminal method 1 didn't work, so I had to use method 2 [right click, open/show package, drag exe into Terminal]. I'll let you know how things go. I have been waiting for a long time to get this working an...

Re: Export of 8-bit PCM 4000 Hz samples fail
I definatelly vote for a choice of sample rate during export. Default may still be project setting, but I would prefer default to be that of a single track (when only a single track is exported and its samplefreq differ from project). Thanks. I added your vote: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Fea...

Re: Audacity breaks recording via mic
What is the make and model number of the mic? If it's a USB mic, other applications can't use it while Audacity is doing so, unless you select that mic in Pulse Audio Volume Control (pavucontrol) then choose the "pulse" recording device in Audacity.
