Try selecting all the tracks and then Export Multiple. Export Multiple completely ignores whether tracks are selected or not. I definatelly vote for a choice of sample rate during export. Default may still be project setting, but I would prefer default to be that of a single track (when only a single track is exported and its samplefreq differ from project). Thanks. What is the make and model number of the mic? If it's a USB mic, other applications can't use it while Audacity is doing so, unless you select that mic in Pulse Audio Volume Control (pavucontrol) then choose the "pulse" recording device in Audacity.
