Re: Problems with save and with export

Shortcuts activating in file dialogues in 1.2.5 on Mac is known about and we have reports of it on PPC Macs in 1.2.6 as well. Note the workaround mentioned in that link of changing shortcuts (as well as pasting in text). We won't be fixing it as we know it could take excessive amounts of time. Bette...

Re: Fugue Audacity Skin

Here is a Windows screenshot. I've saved the .png in case we make a collection of ready made themes available via Preferences, or keep a repository of them online. I'd regard it as a Mac-specific theme really. However I don't regard the colour contrasts in the unmuted waveform, or those in the gain ...

Re: allow playback start close to playback cursor

I do still think the playback functionality isn't exactly what the programmers intended. I'd think they'd want to initiate playback when clicking on the timeline at any location. I think I'd agree. When you click in the timeline and then drag the cursor, you cannot do anything with that region beca...

Thanks. It seems that nightly build didn't help anyone affected by this problem. We'll stick at it.

Re: How to Export in 1.3.7 ?

I removed 1.3.7 and restored my backup of 1.3.6 (something said that backing that up first was gonna be a real good idea). Using the original 24 bit WAV file, I then exported this copy... Note how much cleaner it is than the 1.3.7 export. I found a little evidence on the internet of similar opinion...

Re: How to Export in 1.3.7 ?

I just tried 1.3.7. First it makes you download the newest Lame (3.98.2) to do an MP3 file. It will not work with any older version. This is noted in the accompanying README and on: http://audacityteam.org/download/features-1.3-a The reason is that we were using the old Blade API and had to change ...

Re: Subsequent tracks get recorded at a different pitch

For everyone reading this, * use up-to-date sound drivers meant for your specific device/hardware and operating system. Sound devices will not work well in full duplex mode (playing while recording) with badly written, outdated or generic drivers. * Try to use the same device for playback and record...

Re: How to Export in 1.3.7 ?

No the problem is that when you go to EXPORT the file there is no choicel mp3 wav in any window -- you only see the Tag /Labeling window.... The problem with mp3 encoding with 1.3.7 is still there -- even with the RC2 version now available. . . . 1.3.7 *is* out 1.3.7 Beta is most definitely out. Th...

AVS Audio Editor and other SourceForge advertisments

To those who think SourceForge are offering AVS instead of Audacity: SourceForge is not offering AVS instead of Audacity, though I agree the AVS advertisements are obtrusive. The advertisements enable SF to host the millions of Audacity downloads (and those of other open source projects) for free. ...
