Re: Problems with headphones (windows vista)

Right-click over the speaker icon in the System Tray > Playback Devices. Or click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound (if you're us...

Re: Audacity 1.3.7 crashes while compressing
I too am an avid user of Chris Capel's compressor. Just last week, I noticed that his latest release crashes Audacity when the selection I'm compressing starts very near, but not quite at, the beginning of the track. I've been meaning to write Chris about this, but I've been putting it off until I ...

Re: Organizing Effects (Group)
In 1.3.6 the effects were organized into groups - for 1.3.7 the developers appear to have reverted to the un-grouped menu. We will turn grouping back on when we have implemented a way for users to turn it on and off. That's not a priority as the grouping was unpopular, because it increased the navi...

Re: Uninstalling LAME library
I'm on Mac OSX 10.5.6. Just installed Audacity and also the LAME library. Audacity works well. Very nice. But after installing, I can't find the LAME library. I guess it's been installed because I can definitely make MP3 files. I don't want to get rid of it, but I don't like leaving it lying around ...

Re: Can't Export as MP3 Using Lame
There were some problems with the dll in the previous LAME zip file from Buanzo's site. However that site now has an .exe installer with a newer version of the required v3.98.2 dll. This will install lame_enc.dll in "C:Program FilesLame for Audacity" and Audacity should see it there withou...
Re: no audio
This should be in the Audacity Beta (1.3.x) Forum where I'm moving it to. If you were opening an .aup Audacity project file in the CleanSpeech program, the project may have no sound because you have removed the WAV or AIFF files the project depended on: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=F...

Re: Text label functions not working in 1.3.7
I finally figured it out: I was running audacity in clean speech mode. After turning that off, it worked again. Is that an intended behavior? The main point of CleanSpeech is that it reduces the complexity of the program by eliminating features (and so menu items), and labelling is one such removed...

Re: Export multiple with Unicode labels
We've tried to fix Unicode import and export now (it affected normal export as well as export multiple). There is a Unicode development build here for Windows 2000 or later - can you try it and let us know if there are any more problems?
Thanks

Re: ID3 tags, Unicode, and Windows Media Player?
Non-ASCII characters are normal characters for most people. Yes, but operating system developers are not most people ;) - these restrictions were imposed long back in time in the mists of earlier O/S developments - and have just lingered on ever since.WC There is no reason per se why Windows 2000 a...
