Re: MP3 Export Crash
Thanks for the zip file with the two LAME files. I reset my 1.3.8 Preferences by removing all except "NewPrefsInitialized=1" from audacity.cfg, put the 3.97 dll in the Audacity installation folder then launched Audacity. Hang on... the Program FilesAudacity folder OR the Program FilesLame...

Re: MP3 Export Crash
Other than that, our problem is replicating the issue. You can by all means zip the v3.97 lame_enc.dll that Audacity recognises with the v3.98 one it does not and send it to me. See details in a PM I'm about to send. FYI, I've done a search on the entire system disk (where Windows is installed) and...

Re: Error not well formed
I saved a project in 1.3.2 beta. When I tried to open it i got Error on line 5 "not well formed". The current Audacity Beta version is 1.3.7. We do not support obsolete versions. Please upgrade: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows#recdown Unless you are actually on Windows 98 or...

1.3.8 recording channel support
Sound cards that recorded multi-channel before with Audacity will do so again in ... 1.3.7 Beta... Given there are now a number of 24 channel devices on the market, we've now removed the hardcoded restriction to 16 maximum in our source code. Audacity now offers the same number of recording channel...

Recent Files Menu
The Recent Files menu has been "improved" recently so it should now be listing files properly, including those dragged in, which it did not before. You're right that we've lost the previous ability to show the full path... In fact, it seems this is a weakness we had all along in that the ...

Re: MP3 Export Crash
So how about if you delete the entire contents of audacity.cfg (not the file itself) and replace the contents with just this line at the top: NewPrefsInitialized=1 It means losing all your old preferences so you might want to make a renamed copy of the file first. Other than that, our problem is rep...

Re: vers. 1.3.7 Saved but still lost
Jimmy sent me extra information in a private message. Please don't do that because it makes it more difficult to handle the issue in the topic. Even if a topic is not answered at once, someone will usually go looking for any unanswered topics when they have time. I am operating audacity 1.3.7 on a M...

Re: PLEASE HELP ME! I AM BEGGING YOU!
Nope. I import the MP3 file and it still does it! Then it's not an MP3 despite the extension someone gave it, or there is something wrong with it. Convert it to WAV with SUPER thus: Drag the file in then: 1) in the output container list top left choose "WAV (audio only)" 2) in the output ...

Re: When I record multiple files there's an automatic bass b
I'm betting you're not recording your microphone the second time. You're recording Mix-Out or other computer summation services. So what you're really doing is recording your own performance plus re-recording the original performance a little late...Mess around inside the Windows Control Panels... ...

Re: MP3 Export Crash
Try closing Audacity, then deleting the audacity.cfg file - it's a hidden file in: Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataAudacity Then restart Audacity and go into the Import/Export section of Preferences (from the Edit menu) and manually tell Audacity where the correct LAME encoder dll ...
