Re: MP3 Export Crash
magnerj, if you have ever used Audacity 1.2, there are Audacity settings in the Windows Registry (not otherwise). I have an older version of lame_enc.dll used by 1.2 (so the path is in the Registry), plus the correct version for 1.3.7 in Program FilesLame for Audacity, where Audacity autodetects it ...

Re: Installing on Vista - what Audacity should tell you
Thanks, Peter. Please note, this is absolutely nothing to do with "failed installation of Audacity" and should be moved to the Windows 1.2 Forum. Unless you get an operating system message that Audacity did not install properly, you have installed it (correctly). In almost no cases does Au...

Re: Auto play from the command line
* "Open with" from Explorer: files import into new project (Windows XP SP3 does not seem to open multiple files using "Open with", at least for me). <<does not seem to [be willing to] open multiple files>> <<does not seem to [actually] open multiple files>> do you mean: A. there...

Re: Muted tracks export empty!
I don't understand the long-wanted request to simultaneously export single tracks of a multi-track project as individual files (that is, simultaneously export single waveforms having their own track panels). That is what Export Multiple (splitting by tracks) is for... Actually the FR is sitting in ...

Re: Auto play from the command line
Jan, the current post is on topic, in so far as you raised the "$" issue therein in the first place. I will remove the "$" from my post. I quote it like that because that is the way we always do. For Windows users, it probably needs an exact explanation according to where you run...

Re: No 11khz Project rate option?
When Audacity has a editor window open (either a new project, or open an existing file/project) it lists numerous options (New, Open, Open Recent, Close, etc). When Audacity does *not* have an editor window open, the only available options in the File menu are "New" and "Open". ...

Re: Problem, How To Fix?
Try Audacity 1.3.8 for Windows 2000 or later (still in alpha). It should respond more quickly when you have multiple tracks. It does not mean you are free from computer processing/sound card issues. One very real question is if Mixcraft works in 32-bit float. If it is 16-bit, that's half the process...

Re: Muted tracks export empty!
Russ, thanks for pointing out your experience. 1.3.7 has a warning for Export and Export Selection if all the tracks are muted, and prevents you exporting. There is no warning with Export Multiple if all (or any) tracks are muted. In fact in 1.3.8, Export Multiple has a new dialogue confirming the n...

Re: Auto play from the command line
Gale, once more for you (in case you are reading this): audacity file1.aiff file2.wav file3.ogg opens only the first file (i.e. file1.aiff) in the case that audacity is already running. Hi Jan, not sure about the "again" (perhaps you mentioned it before), but yes that seems to be true (I ...

Re: Auto play from the command line
My version is 1.3.6 and working in windows env.I would like to automatically strat a file as soon as Audacity starts from the command line. The current Audacity Beta is 1.3.7. Audacity's command line support on Windows is very simple. To launch Audacity and open audio files or .aup Project files (i...
