Re: Distortion level indicators - absent...

Just three points for the record but not a direct answer to what you seem to be seeing: * The trigger for clipping on the meters is three consecutive clipped samples, for View > Show Clipping it is one. If you generate a 1.0 amplitude sine tone it will clip in the waveform but not the meters. * Some...

Re: Help with Recovery

Ok i have managed to get this to work. It looks like there is an error in the crash recovery section of the wiki (http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=CrashRecovery) In there, it says "aud_recover will generate one or more files (depending on how many channels of audio you recorded, us...

Re: AAC & MP3 on Mac using 1.3.8

Hi takken, I had not heard of issues with Mac users browsing in Audacity for the FFmpeg or LAME libraries not being able to see them without being logged in as root. It sounds as if we ought to address this especially given FFmpeg libraries are not autodetected. Koz, you mentioned a few weeks ago th...

Re: 1.3.8 GUI mode VST plug-in support (Comments welcome)

1.3.9 seems to run just fine. It still tells me the BFD folder is invalid when I start the program but I just cancel through the messages and Audacity loads and works fine. At this point I'm happy because now I can at least make it work.http://forum.audacityteam.org/posting.php?mode=reply&f=37&...

Re: Ogg and quicktime files are always imported as 16bit

I meant to say those 24 bit Apple lossless files aren't imported at all. Nothing appears on the timeline, no error message either. I understand ogg supports only 16 bit, but when you import a file into Audacity you probably want to work with it, eq or change the volume. Then it would be good to sta...

Re: Ogg and quicktime files are always imported as 16bit

I've set the default sample format to 32 bit float in preferences (that's the standard). Now mp3, 16 bit wav files and 16 bit flac are imported to 32 float tracks. I think that is the way it should be. Ogg files, however, and files that are imported through Quicktime (m4a, mp4, or mov) always appea...

Re: ID3 version in Audacity Beta

The only way Audacity Beta will give you ID3v1 metadata tags is via the command line.

Re: BFD Folder Invalid Error

I've been using Ver 1.2.4 and just installed 1.3.8. During install it said my BFD folder was invalid and brought up a window asking where the BFD folder was or did I want to create one. Not having any idea what this means or what the BFD folder is, I created one in "My Documents". When ex...
