Re: Veritable bug in 1.3.9
A bug has recently been identified in Audacity 1.3.10 alpha where Audacity crashes when running some Nyquist plug-ins. You may be describing the same bug. If so, then a bug fix has just been submitted, so the problem may already be fixed. When the next beta version of Audacity is released it may be...

Re: Getting at the Help manuals
Made a folder called "help", and put the extracted "manual" folder in it - works now. Thanks. I think the wording could be made a little more clear in the paragraph below the one you have updated... When I read the (new) instructions I did the same as I did the first time - that...

Re: Getting at the Help manuals
It *is* different on the Mac; the Applications folder contains the Audacity folder, and that contains: Audacity help Languages LICENSE.txt modules nyquist plug-ins README.txt The help folder contains the manual folder. usr, bin etc. folders exist on the Mac, but they are hidden from normal view. Hi...

Re: Request: Skin
Were themes removed from 1.3.9? I really like that feature - hopefully I'm just missing something, or they'll be added back in soon. We decided this would not be in the next Stable 2.0 Release, so it will not be in the final Betas before 2.0 which we are now going through. The feature is too incomp...

Re: recording with sony pcm d50, then direct to cd
It also means you can't use "Detach at Silences" to get your white space back after running a Nyquist effect. Not necessarily. a) the silences could be marked before passing the audio to Nyquist... b) the silence could be detected during processing ...and before converting back to 16/24 b...

Re: recording with sony pcm d50, then direct to cd
It depends on exactly *when* Audacity writes those files. If you save and name the project then the temp directory is not used (at least, not on a Mac). Instead the files will show up in the _data folder. This implies that what you can see in the temp directory is not a result of Audacity writing o...

Re: recording with sony pcm d50, then direct to cd
All in all, I'm inclined to revert the Manual back to almost what it was, I'd forgotten about importing with other importers  so I've removed the line; "Imported audio will retain its original bit depth unless it is lower than the Quality Preferences, in which cases it will be converted ...

Re: Getting at the Help manuals
John, I replied you to your e-mail on the same topic sent to [email protected]. Does the Manual open if you place a folder called "help" (containing at the next level a folder called "manual", and inside that the "images, "manual" and "skins" folders and the html...

Re: recording with sony pcm d50, then direct to cd
Thanks everyone for the discussion about the Digital Audio page in the Manual (mostly Dominic's work). Steve made an edit to it along the lines discussed here, and asked me if it was OK. Well, it's OK as far as it goes, but then (I think) the original simpler version was. The original said 32-bit wa...
