Re: recording halfway through a track
This does not work for me (on 1.3.9 Windows XP-HE-SP3). In record mode it starts at the beginning of the selection ok - but then carries on recording past the slecetion end point. However in play mode it does end at the begiining of the selection correctly. That seems odd. I've just tested on XP (i...

Re: Get error message when I use save as...
I ran into this too and the fix for me was to go into the preferences and change the directory to something other than the default temp directory. Personally I chose my recording directory and created a new folder there called temp. Since making that change I haven't had this problem. This workarou...

If you disable Transport > Software Playthrough, does it make any difference?Jaycob wrote:Yes, default install. Recording works fine with the sound recorder that came with the install.

Re: enable software playthrough and I can't record
Greetings. I'm using Audacity 1.3.9 with Gentoo Linux. HDA Intel / Realtek ACL888 sound card/chip and driver, i7 CPU. If other information is needed let me know and I'll post. Audacity seems to work just fine in all respects except: When I enable "software playthrough" and attempt to reco...

Re: when importing MP3 it skips the thirst notes.
Hallo I use audacity 1.3.7 om ubuntu 9.04. When i import a MP3 file the first notes are pushed aside. It seems the number don't start at the biginning. MP3s always have silence padding. What application encoded the MP3 that you are importing? Do you mean the notes are visible in the waveform of the...

Re: recording plays slower than should be
hello, Im trying to record audio from a websites integrated player to my HD. it sounds fine streamed through the player but once its recorded with Audacity, the file plays about 10% slower than normal. I can speed it up by going into 'effect/change speed' on the toolbar, but I just wondered why tha...

Re: Audacity 1.39 problems with VST plugins, 1.38 is fine..
Audacity 1.3.8 uses the "VST bridge" plug-in (as it had no VST support on its own). Audacity 1.3.9 now has built in VST support and should be used without the VST bridge. Actually, 1.3.8 was the first version to offer the new VST GUI support without need of the "VST Bridge" Enab...

Re: Two copies launch on startup
Trashing the prefs did stop the double launch. On the other hand, Audacity now helpfully starts up the Vienna Instruments sampler when it launches, but I'll consider it a feature and not a bug. Please see: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=11534&p=45667#p45667 and consider ...

Re: How do I make audacity not records all sounds
After I installed Audacity, every sound recording program i have records all sound from my computer, music on youtube, Windows noises and the mic. At first I thought it was just audacity, and i fiddled with all the options for a while, but then i realized it was every sound program I have... If it ...
