Re: LADSPA plug-ins installer Doesnt work

the LADSPA plug-ins installer does not work. I installed it several times and the plug-ins don't show up! You do have to restart Audacity for newly added plug-ins to show up in the Audacity menus. In 1.3.9, VST plug-ins also require a re-scan to be specified in Preferences, which then takes place w...

Re: Error opening project

Thanks, Bill! The file works now. I can't believe how simple that was. I also can't believe I had to download a separate text editing program just to be able to see that there were forbidden characters. Now I'm trying to decide which I think is more of a piece of shit: Audacity or Mac. Version 1.3....

Re: Help! Audacity disappeared!

I'm guessing the Audacity configuration file has been corrupted. This file stores all your Audacity preferences, including what menus to turn on or off. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't help. It didn't, because the configuration file is still there. It is a hidden file, auda...

Re: Always scans for VST Plug-ins on startup

Can you both confirm this by trying in the 1.3.10 Alpha Nightly Builds . Gale Gale: See my post to -devel on this topic. On Mac I never see the "scanning" dialog. Also, just clearing out all the VST effects does not display the problem. You need to either trash or clear plugins.cfg. -- Bi...

Re: how to use Truncate Silence

Gale,I repeated the above tests with label tracks. I placed 8 labels in seemingly random locations, but I put individual labels on tones and on silent spots. After applying Truncate Silence, I seemed to have the identical discrepancies to the waveform as in the above test. When the label track was ...

Re: Always scans for VST Plug-ins on startup

Bill, Thanks, that's the info I needed. I'm a bit of a newbie and didn't think of the fact that there were NO VST plugins installed. Once I installed one VST plug-in, the rescanning stopped. This wasn't known to me, but yes in 1.3.9 Release it seems Audacity scans the Audacity Plug-ins folder if th...

Re: how to use Truncate Silence

(sent to feedback:@) On Windows, XP HE SP3, I used Audacity 1.3.9 to Generate DTMF tones with the following default settings: 55% duty ratio 3278 ms tone duration 2682 ms silence duration amplitude .8 I then ran Truncate Silence with the default settings of 200, 1000, 4, -40. After I did this, I me...

Re: Bug in Timer Record...

Edgar, thanks for considering these two Timer Record issues. I have moved your post here (from "1.2.x General Feedback and Discussion") so as to link up with a previous discussion about these problems. There are no known reports on Mac and Linux, and 1.2 does not have the Timer Record feat...
