Re: Issue with Alt key when focus in label
Certainly on Windows XP, you do not need to hold down ALT to access menus; you can just hit ALT to make the menus underlined then choose the activator key you want. On Linux you usually have to hold ALT down with the key you want, otherwise ALT is ignored. Someone told me Windows 7 now requires you ...

Re: Trouble Opening WAV file for Editing
Just two comments on side-issues raised here: I went to 24-bit because that is what many of the "high-bit remastered" CDs that I have bought in recent years claimed to be, That will either be referring to the recording process or just marketing hype. The CD itself will be 16 bit. There is ...

Re: Audio messed up and randomized
I had began mixing 2 songs together on Audacity (Like I often do) however for some reason I just went to open up the project file again and then I began to play what I had created only to find that the songs had messed up. They weren't out of sinc or anything, just different samples of the songs ha...

Re: MP3 export problem
Assuming all other instances of lame_enc.dll have been removed or renamed, initialise audacity.cfg. Do this by exiting Audacity, then open audacity.cfg in a text editor and remove all the content except "NewPrefsInitialized=1" at the top: See: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=A...

Re: Windows 7 and Audacity query
I think that the latest Audacity will sometimes show you the recording sources on Vista (so probably also Windows 7) - you may need to switch to either MME or Direct Sound in "Preferences > Devices". The "Recording Device" tab in the "Devices" Preferences is the place ...

Re: Sound activated recording
Also, it'd be awesome if we can go down below -60. If I just set it -60, it just keeps recording although the floor noise is below -60. I'm using virtual audio cable, so the floor noise is -infinity. The Meter/Waveform dB range setting in the Interface Preferences also controls the scale on the Sou...

Re: Recording at 24bit appears to be 16 bits padded to 24bit
I just checked and find I have the same problem as eharmonica.... When I look at the samples using the trial version of Adobe Audition, the FLAC files I recorded with Audacity (supposedly at 24 bits / 96 kHz), line up on the grid values and never between, showing that they are really not 24 bit sam...

Re: Filename/track name when importing
I found it very annoying whenever i import files, audacity apend " 1" to the end of the imported files/tracks. How can i disable this? In a stereo file, you can't as it's currently implemented. A space and "1" is added to a stereo file, and when you split the stereo track...
