Re: Audacity recordind from digital or analogue?
Gale, you said my questions have been covered. Indeed, it's been suggested Audacity records after the signal has gone thru the DAC. This confirmed what I believed. My question to you, and a question I had previously asked but nobody was able to answer (and this is why I asked you directly,) is whet...

Re: Noise with USB turntable
I have been having sound issues with audacity. When I have the turntable on and the arm in its rest, I get a lot of noice coming through my subwoofer. I have bose speakers too. When I am spinning vinyl and its between songs I get severe feedback. Not sure what to do. Please read: http://audacitytea...

Re: No Recording Device
Gale, I did install the 64 bit drivers. When I look at the recording devices (right click speaker in system tray) I see 3 devices which are all disabled. The devices are: Microphone (not plugged in), Microphone (not plugged in), Line-In (not plugged in). I can not enable any of them, and there is n...

lame_enc.dll issue
I need to convert the wave to an MP-3 file and Audacity won't let me do it without going to a "LAME_enc.dll ..and when I downloaded that, that didn't work either. Please start a new topic, so we can be sure what version of Audacity you are using. Please give a good problem description ("d...

Re: Importing/editing voice memo WAV files
...Choosing File > Import > Audio in 1.3.10 did not open an option to choose "FFmpeg-compatible files", but dragging the WAV file into Audacity opened it and allowed me to edit and export it as an MP3 file. There isn't a separate window or Options button. Click File > Import > Audio then ...

Re: Audacity recordind from digital or analogue?
Quincy00 sent me the following PM suggesting his questions had not been fully answered. It looks to me we've already spent a lot of time on this, but just to be clear, we don't offer technical support via PMs. Please post on the Forum so everyone can read the question and answer. Firstly, if I bough...

Re: Compiler used for distributions?
I've been compiling my own Audacity (as I need ASIO support). It works great, but I'm curious about one thing. (I'm an old *nix geek but have never before even tried to compile anything on any flavor of windows). I'm using M$ Visual Studio 2008 Express, and even with every possible optimization set...

Re: setting markers bug in 1.3.10?
Confirmed on Linux with Audacity 1.3.10 beta and 1.3.11 alpha. It appears to be the same if you use any single letter for play/stop. I'll put in a bug report. Thanks, Steve. I've marked it as a P3 bug, as was the previous bug where using unmodified M for adding a label at the playback position adde...

Re: No Recording Device
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Audacity 1.3.10 Beta I just installed Audacity for the first time but can't record. When I select the record button I get a dialog that says "Error while opening sound device. Check input device settings and project sample rate." When I go to Edit->Preference...
