Re: Project Tracks Silenced
ElBeardo, if you're interested there is a slightly more technical explanation of why this happens here . Peter, I know you feel strongly about this, but I think there is a strong case why we want to do more than just set the default to copy in. There are a couple of good suggestions for a solution h...

Re: Blue Forum Header
In the situation we're in now I think one extra link pointing to: http://audacityteam.org/help/documentation would be OK I'd be happy with that, but personally I'd still like the links more prominent. OK. I did actually "slightly" increase the font size a while ago... I can add a mention ...

Re: Blue Forum Header
If people click the big icon top left they'll see hover text that the main site has "documentation". I think we're fighting human nature here (people will usually ask before looking, and won't RTFM even if they see the "Help" menu items in 1.3.x). I don't want to make the header ...

Re: Help with Roland EDIROL FA66 Audio Capture into Audacity
(in e-mail) is this a problem? Could it be that Audacity is not recognising mono input if it is coming from one channel only? I'm not sure if you're seeing our replies to your e-mails sent to [email protected], so I am repeating this here. If you send Audacity what amounts to a stereo pair with one channel...

Re: Help with Roland EDIROL FA66 Audio Capture into Audacity
I see after typing this you have had some success, and as suspected mono gives problems, but I'm going to leave all the below in as it might help someone else. You should make sure you have the correct Vista 32-bit driver: http://www.roland.com/products/en/_support/dld.cfm?PRODUCT=FA-66&iRcId=18...

Further 1.3 builds for Windows 98/ME
Well, the switch to Visual Studio 2008 finished off any more builds after 1.3.7 for Windows 98/ME, but Leland has got Visual Studio 2005 going again by converting the project files back to 2005 format, so we have an apparently working 1.3.12 Alpha (ANSI, for Windows 98/ME only), if anyone wants to t...

Re: PreSonus FP10 records at a max of half-volume in Audacit
Here's what the problem is: Programs like Renoise, ProTools, Cubase, etc., can handle inputs INDIVIDUALLY. Audacity does not. Audacity handles "mono" as a cross between both channels, it does not give one the choice to select only one of those channels. The reason why it is at half volume...

Re: Record input extremely low
Gale, Just to clarify, I have used 1.2.6 for about 2 years and I always record in mono, as I only do voice over narration. The level in 1.2.6 has never been an issue. I set up 1.2.6 to ask for one channel. I did the same with 1.3.11 and then the low level issue came up. OK, I just noticed further u...

Thanks for the help Stevethefiddle. I'd love to translate http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips I'll work on it in increments until I get it done. Schnahz Hi Schnahz, Thanks for helping with getting questions answered on the Spanish Forum. Like Steve said, I'm sure you'll be able t...

Re: File|Close shuts down software instead of project
So, it's been a year and with the new version at 1.3.12 and rising, what's the status of this issue? I'd like an easy way to wipe the slate clean and start a new project, but it's a pain to totally quit Audacity and restart the app again. I have the option set for "close" to NOT exit the ...
