Re: annoyed by neighbour
As policy, we don't help with recordings for legal purposes (including covert recordings) and for management of person to person disputes. Someone not on Audacity Team may or may not be willing to help you. However my advice is to get a lawyer and a proper Sound Pressure Level measuring instrument f...

Re: DFX Audio Enhancer with Audacity
The audio transcription work is hosted online, and the audio file cannot be downloaded. Therefore, I can't open it with Audacity (more's the pity). You can record streaming (online) audio in Audacity ... http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html Yeah, I...

Re: Which version of LAME dll?
Audacity has a strict requirement that dynamically loaded binaries of LAME include sufficient "symbols" for optimal MP3 encoding. Audacity will refuse most arbitrary lame_enc.dll's that you can find online but will accept most libmp3lame.dll's (you can rename such a DLL to lame_enc.dll if ...

Re: pause/stop/resume recording in Audacity
Howdy, So I'll cut to the chase... how much would a bounty need to be to have "Punch and Roll" with an option for destructive or non-destructive? (to start with, I'll gladly take destructive since I'm overwriting mistakes anyway! Not sure if "undo" would still work, but it'd be ...

Do you have access to another computer to try the Behringer? Is the RCA cable going into the Behringer suspect? Did you get the Behringer very cheap such as $10? If so it could be a cheap ripoff. If the Behringer is official and that or the Dell is in warranty you could try to get replacements. http...

What Audacity version are you using? Please give us all three numbers from Help > About Audacity..., or hover your mouse over the audacity.exe file you are using which also tells you the version number. What file were you using? An Audacity project file (AUP) that you saved at File > Save Project......

Re: Audacity don't let me edit
I install audacity 2.1 in windows 10 but if i edit something the track goes from being like that https://postimg.org/gallery/13kp59112/ We don't make any Audacity "2.1" version. We make an old "2.1.0" version. I suggest you uninstall that "2.1" version and obtain Audac...

As you say, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1346040#c1.
Also Audacity does not support gtk3 so you may encounter https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1347053.

Re: Problem pasting audio
I've been using an older version of audacity for some years now (I believe it was the 1.3 Beta. I'm positive it had Beta in the name and a 3, so that seems the likely candidate given I've used it since 2012). I assumed it would tell me when Audacity updated; apparently I was wrong. If you are now u...

Re: Lost source files when attempting a batch chain
Did you try to set Audacity to step on or cover up the old files with the corrected work? Chains are not supposed to export over the original files. If there are edge cases where they do, it's a bug. If you repeat the same Chain on the same original file, the "cleaned" file produced by th...
