Re: Minimum length mod for Silence Marker and Sound Finder
I can get an initial label just before the end of the first silence if I set minimum distance at less than the length of the first track. But then I may as well turn the control off because I will get one label per track anyway. In cases such as this the minimum length is not required at all. I can...

Re: Recording freezes when screensaver is activated
I would call it a bug, but it's not really an Audacity bug. The problem is that often the sound system can try to shut down when the screen saver starts. You may be able to work round the issue by setting your screen to just go off rather than a screen saver, though of course you must make sure tha...

Re: Recording freezes when screensaver is activated
FWIW, the screensaver won't come on in Windows 7 x64 or Ubuntu 10.04 when there is audio playing, but does if there is only an audio input. Ubuntu is a bit more clever in that if the screensaver was due to come on, it does so once audio playback is stopped. I can't get an Audacity freeze-when-record...

Re: Cant Export with noise removal
Ok im new to Audacity and am trying to export a file that I used the noise removal feature on but it does not work. When I play it in Audacity it removes the noise but when I export it as a wav, aiff, mp3, m4a they all sound like the original sound file with the hiss noise. Ive tried to export afte...

Re: Importing multi-track recording?
Hi, I have some recordings that are currently on an ADAT cassette. I plan to have them converted (at a studio where they are unlikely to have Audacity) to some digital format so that I can edit them on my Mac using Audacity. What format might that be? My assumption is that I will have to have each ...

Re: Sliding Pitch and Time Crash
The maximum amount on the mac version 1.3.12.---well at least for me) -75% is the greatest negative tempo change available if you use the slider. If you click in (or tab into) the text entry box, you can enter reductions up to -90%. My selection is only 230 miliseconds long. Both a pitch change of ...

Re: Pitch (EAC), what is it?
If you were wanting to change the pitch of the audio, Effect > Change Pitch does so without changing the tempo. Effect > Change Speed does so while also changing the tempo.Thunderbolt1000T wrote:Since I'm visually impaired, it is completely useless to me.

Re: Sliding Pitch and Time Crash
Hi Everybody. (my 1st post :P ) My Mac crashes whenever I apply a Sliding Pitch and Time effect on a very short selection of a stereo file (a bit less than a second-like a snare) if the total length of the File is longer than 90 seconds and if the pitch is maxed down (-12) and the time is anything ...

Re: Pitch (EAC), what is it?
Can someone please explain what Pitch (EAC) is, and what it does? I've tried it, but I don't notice any difference, except my CPU usage goes through the roof. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Track_Drop-Down_Menu#Pitch The vertical scale represents pitch. The colours represent in...

Re: copying cassette
I want to copy music from cassettes to my computer and then to CDs. I bot a "T2>MP3" converter from 4 Corners and had a problem. (Their little window did not display all it should.) They advise that to make it work I should download software from Audacity. I downloaded 1.3. Audacity 1.3 g...
