Peter tells me that a timed recording in 1.3.13 from 21:59 to 23:10 carried on recording overnight and had to be force-quit. So wxWidgets 2.8.11 in itself doesn't help, on Windows anyway,

Re: Dead links in the "Welcome to Audacity" window

Problem solved! - wx-widgets was unable to find the Debian "Iceweasel" browser. Here is how I made it work. It's not really difficult, but it took me more than two hours to find it out: 1. At the bash prompt type: bash$ gconf-editor 2. In the Gnome configuration editor under: desktop->app...

Re: Connecting USB Turntable

I am in the process of setting up my usb turntable to my laptop. I have connected the USB and also installed the software. How do I connect the RCA cables to a laptop? Do I need anything else? DO I need them, or will the USB cable suffice? The USB cable should normally be used unless you get record...

Re: Sliding Pitch and Time Crash

I've been using the sliding pitch/time effect today on Linux (Ubuntu 9.04, Audacity 1.3.12) and Audacity has been crashing regularly. It seems to crash mostly when using extreme settings on relatively short sections of audio. In most cases I was processing selections of between 2 seconds and 0.5 se...

Re: Help please

Is there a particular file undelete program that you have found to be best in trying to recover these files? Will they all have the .au file extension? Personally I use Recover My Files because it usually maintains the old file structure with the old file and folder names. Also it has native previe...

Re: Time code/length property problem

I thought ****itup meant Explorer Properties, but in Windows Media Player in Windows 7, there is still no problem with the length being shown in the File properties, FWIW. I've heard many times that WMP11 (which comes with XP SP3, I recall) will not accept WAV files for burning if they are dragged s...

Re: All my files are not listed

What type of files are you trying to open and what happens when you try to open them? ///////////////////////////////////////////////// They are sound files (voice & music/effects). I have no trouble opening those under "File/Recent Files"; it's just that the ones I need to open aren'...

Re: Time code/length property problem

I've been ripping my vinyl records and exporting them as .WAV song by song, and about every third song shows up without a length in my Windows Media Player, and in the file properties itself. They'll still play with WMP, but the time scroll bar doesn't move and it doesn't allow me to burn those fil...
