Re: Problem with playback while recording
Greetings! I too, have a distortion issue on previously recorded tracks while trying to record. I tried all the fixes you recomended, none worked. It's as if, after hitting the record button, the gain is increased and the recorded track is accompanied by a loud hissing. It's almost as if the track ...

Re: Text Envelope 0.8 beta
I'm considering adding support for parentheses to be used in the intermediate control point list, so that control points can be added in the form: (time , amplification) for example: (1,0)(2,-6)(-2,-6)(-1,0) Any comments? Maybe it's an unnecessary complication, and there are already a lot of option...

Re: Non-responding sound controls during recording!
I'm running a line into the Mac's input, and the problem is not in getting the signal, it's that no matter where I turn the volume down, on my computer's master settings, or using Audacity's controls, unless I turn the volume of my cassette deck, or mixer, or receiver (i've tried all three) way, wa...

Re: Separating CD output from Phones signals mix
Thank you Gale, as I mentioned in my post, what I need to know is, how do I listen to both the music track coming from the Audacity prorgam, and mix it with my vocals coming from the mic, at the same time I'm singing and sending only the vocals to the new Audacity track without mixing the music sig...

Re: Timer recording does not want to stop !
In order to emphasize that it's the duration that is relevant, maybe the order could change to: 1) start time 2) duration 3) (estimated) end time Adding an "estimated" prefix to the end time would be suggestive of what really happens. Also the manual should have a note on that regard... (...

Re: Known bugs in the Audacity-1.3.11-beta Nyquist interface
I suggest: (1) document problems with the current interface, (2) document the desired interface, (3) reach a consensus on the design, (4) produce a list of actual bugs with respect to the documented design, and (5) fix the bugs (easier said than done, but not really hard). Thanks, Roger. For (1) ma...

Re: six pages of spam - cant find real messages
you can NOT block spammers by blacklisting IP addresses without hurting too many innocent users too I more or less agree with that. We used to block IP addresses but as you suggest, spammers will be able to rotate through hundreds of IP addresses. That's why I was talking about blocking an e-mail d...

Linking in 1.3.13 alpha for Windows
Iv'e just noticed we've got linking back in 1.3.13 - no idea how to use it or what it's for though Linking is pretty much the same idea as before, but a bit more limited and focused - the idea is to keep audio tracks in a group synchronised so that a timeline change in one audio track in the group ...
