Re: Odd File Size Doubling Under Snow Leopard

In Audacity 1.3 the only bit-depth preferences are the Quality Preferences which refer to the resolution at which the audio is being worked in. The bit depth (WAV/AIFF) and bit rate (MP3) you export at are chosen in 1.3 after you click File > Export (hit the Options button). For WAV/AIFF, sample rat...

Re: Average loudness and compression

I don't know of a good multi-band compressor that works with Audacity. I can't really comment on "good" but there are three multi-band compressors here you could try (Windows VST): Grancomp3 (separate stereo and mono compressors) in BuzComp Free bundle: http://www.x-buz.com/BuzCompFree_do...

Re: move cursor with right arrow key

apparently Right Arrow is not the default setting for Move Cursor right, because in Keyboard Preferences I found that taken by "Short seek right during playback" (whatever that might be), while Ctrl+Right Arrow was the setting to move the cursor to the right. So now it is fixed. "Rig...

Start a new post and upload a file in a supported format up to 1 MB in size by clicking the "Upload attachment" tab underneath the "Preview/Post Message" buttons.

Re: Repeated Command

I have version 1.3.2-beta and I am beginning a project in which I will be working with a great number of files. These are files for the spoken word and I have to insert a brief silence after every 3-5 words in each file. I click on where I want the silence and then click on Generate/Silence and pre...

Re: six pages of spam - cant find real messages

I've found out the phpBB forum software is actually set to "check the following DNSBL services on registration and posting: spamcop.net and http://www.spamhaus.org". That check includes all the Spamhaus lists including PBL. Is the image in this phpBB Forum thread what you are seeing? I sea...

Re: Import from Windows Explorer

As far as I'm aware you can't add a context menu "Import to Audacity" option. There are some instructions for adding custom context menus to Explorer on the Wiki . This is handy if Audacity isn't already open. However, context menu commands are treated by Audacity as "Open" comm...

Re: LameLib

Hi, Seems my windows XP box does not recognise the lame files once downloaded. I have installed audacity, went to the preferences tab and pointed to the lame files only to have it not do anything at all. If you had posted here instead of the Mac forum, you would probably have found the answer. I've...
