Re: play guitar with computer music thru scarlett 2i2
connect an appropriate cable from audio out of the Mac to one of the Scarlett inputs I agree, but you also have to avoid sending the guest's voice back to themselves, so somehow you have to record it as a separate mix. There isn't a guest here as far as I read it, just two instruments, but one inst...

Re: Audacity & iPad
why preserve this Quick Time filter in the "Type file" choices of opening or importation of file….since QT itself opens only formats approved by Apple, and that these AIFF/ima4 files open by using the filter of the ffmpeg suite. They do, but you did not know that, so had to ask here for h...

Re: intereference on all imported audio files
I've never had any problems importing audio files into audacity before and I have the latest version of audacity installed. Please give us all three numbers of that version as per the pink panel at the top of the page. Not all sites have the latest version of Audacity. Here is our site: http://www....

Re: play guitar with computer music thru scarlett 2i2
We can't mix directly from the internet. Audacity needs perfect control of the backing tracks in order to make the sync/timing work out. So this dance is limited to anything you can put on the timeline. I am guessing it "might" be possible to connect an appropriate cable from audio out of...

Re: All recordings disappeared - is there a way to recover?
Audacity > Preferences..., Directories section lets you see and change the Audacity temporary directory. Or, File > Save Project As... before recording then you can choose the save location and the temporary location isn't used. One of the installs in this number range would try to save work in /App...

Re: USB mic problem

Re: annoyed by neighbour
And again, recordings made with uncalibrated equipment amount to little more than incidental hearsay. If environmental health can't help further, I would contact a lawyer as to what steps you can take to gather evidence.

Re: the recording volume
No specific value - it depends on the input you are using and the strength of the input signal.
Adjust the recording level so that the loudest parts do not go above -6 dB on the recording meters.

Re: WIN 10 Error message when trying to record.
There are not options showing in the dropdown box for the Mic. That explains the error you see. Audacity cannot record from non-existent audio devices. I suggest you have a read of this to make sure you have proper Windows 10 audio drivers for your specific PC: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Win...
