Re: Very low imput...how do I fix this
Are you actually connecting the DAT machine to the line-in (lossy) or S/PDIF (lossless) input of the computer, and have you selected that input as Recording Device in Audacity (Devices tab of Audacity Preferences)? What version of the Windows operating system are you on? Selecting the correct input ...

Re: Filter SourceCode in Audacity
I'm working on a project to write a library to preform simple effects and filters (low-pass, notch, etc.) on a sound file. I'm aware that Audacity has these features and I was hoping I could adapt the Audacity source code to preform these functions in project. Does any developer know what part of t...

Re: Very low imput...how do I fix this
Hi. I'm hoping you can help me as I have very limited time. I have my old DAT tapes and am trying to record them onto CD through Audacity. If I play the tapes directly through the computer the levels are fine but when I record it through Audacity the level is so low you can barely hear it. I haven'...

Re: Lost Microphone USB Codec
Windows 7. I accidentally deleted the recording icon for the USB Codec. I didn't think it would immediately delete it but it did (didn't need APPLY). How do I get it back? If you are talking about the "Sound" applet in the Windows control panel, right-click anywhere while you are on the R...

Re: Timer recording does not want to stop !
On last Sunday (yesterday) I tried again to run a timed recording (I am still using Audacity 1.3.13-alpha-May 15 2010, linked against widgets 2.8.10). The start time was set to 21:00 and the duration to 1:00. Again, the recording did not stop at the expected end time (22:00) and I had to kill Audac...

Re: cant record my guitar through device
do we have a tutorial on direct sound, mme, asio, etc. and when/how/why to chose each ? You cannot choose ASIO unless you have installed the ASIO SDK, compiled Audacity Beta from source code and sworn that you will not distribute that build to anyone else. :) As for what the other choices mean, see...

Re: Export MP3 through chain settings
Got the same problem... I cannot see a reason why it is not possible to type in lame command line parameters in the ExportMP3's 'Parameter' edit box... Going back to 1.3.3 You can export MP3s at the command line using (external program), but only with the File > Export commands. What version are yo...

Re: tunnel effect in plyback - Windows 7?
I would surmise too that you have an "environment" effect turned on in your sound card, assuming the audio did not sound like that originally.

Re: Noise Removal crashes Audacity in 96k projects
It would be useful to know if you have a saved noise profile in Audacity's application data folder (see above). It would also be useful to know the exact noise profile parameters being used (what values are in the three boxes in step 2)? Does changing these settings avoid the crash at 96000Hz? Do yo...
