Re: Editing file name in Windows Media player
Hi, when I export the song file, I find I can't edit it, 'put in artist name, song title, I have been able to the first time I exported a file, unfortunately not this time... What format are you exporting to, what three-digit version number of Audacity are you using (Help > About Audacity), and wha...
Re: Problem
I have a problem with audacity. When I load an audio file, the program loads only 1 or 2 seconds but it doesn't load the first 1 or 2 second of the audio file. I think that it transforms a 2 minute file into a 2 second file. I don't know if you understand what I am trying to say. Sorry, my English ...

Re: Export bug?
I use Exact Audio Copy to rip CDs and remove the silence at the beginning and end of tracks before converting to MP3. I noticed even if I make no edits to the wave file and only open and export it back to wave in Audacity 1.3.12 the zero samples are no longer zero making EAC unable to delete what w...

Re: cannot import wma files
I found all those av*.dll files in the c:program filesAudacity 1.3 (beta) folder as well as the c:program filesFFmpeg for Audacity folder. The versions were older in the Audacity folder - 1/8/2009 vs. 7/20/2009. Should I dump the old ones? There's also a 1/8/2009 version of ffmpeg.exe in the Audaci...

Re: six pages of spam - cant find real messages
I feel that informing every genuine first time user (many of whom are probably only going to post once in search of a specific answer) that they are being moderated is worse than a small number of DNSBL blockings. But we could try turning off DNSBL for short periods when we have strong tools in plac...

Re: Computer noises heard through headphones?
Or if you don't want to open the computer case to install a PCI card like that ASUS, or don't have any PCI slots spare, buy a sound card that connects to the USB port, which will remove the sound device from inside the computer altogether.

Re: Editing to a very specific time target...?
Working on a locked-groove LP project & need to produce sound files of PRECISELY 1.8 seconds. Is it possible, with Audacity, to establish time-markers within an existing audio file (& just select 1.8 seconds), or to pre-determine file-length in a new file, or in some other way determine exa...

Re: cannot import wma files
Make sure you have FFmpeg from http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#ffdown and installed correctly into C:Program FilesFFmpeg for Audacity. Remove C:Program FilesFFmpeg for Audacity from PATH and reboot. That isn't needed. You may have conflicting versions of ...

Re: Distorted exported MP3 tracks
Udo, the reason Audacity "MP3 Files" export now requires LAME compiled by us is that we have to support correct reported file length and metadata (like tracks, artist and genre) in as many applications as possible. When people used any LAME version they liked, we used to get a lot of compl...
