Re: Problem
Make sure the file you are opening has the extension ".aup" psarrianos was (he said) opening an audio file. Audacity will only let you open an .aup project file from File > Open or File > Recent files at the moment. If you Project > Import Audio an .aup file, or drag it in, you'll get an ...

Re: ASIO and multiple inputs
Glad it's working. We don't have many people testing ASIO so any problem reports are welcome. Was it the fact of clicking OK in Preferences that did the trick of revealing the extra channels, or the restart of Audacity? I don't have an ASIO build at the moment, but if you wanted to you could initial...

Re: Audacity vocals recording low fidelity
No microphone. The music recorded from the vinyl is good. The vocals recorded from the vinyl is low volume/fidelity. I can hear the needle on the vinyl playing good music and good vocals, but the vocals are recorded poorly. Are these "vocals" and "music" mixed together on the sa...

Re: Compile with Asio support for Mac
Where can I find instructions to compile with asio support for Mac? I only found some instructions for windows (in win/compile.txt). There are no explicit instructions. Do you need ASIO support? Audacity on Mac will usually record multiple channels if the CoreAudio drivers of your sound device do s...

Re: Using The Hard Limiter
In order to maximize volume of a track, I use the hard limiter to remove spikes that otherwise prevent the track from being amplified. Does the hard limiter cause any negative effects to the track other than quieting the occasional loud sound? I would say yes (if you are applying the limiter to mor...

Re: ASIO and multiple inputs
I downloaded and built the latest SVN code with the ASIO SDK, under the impression this would allow multiple inputs to be recorded simultaneously. I have used ASIO (via ASIO for all) to record two different stereo inputs in Kristal successfully, so there is no reason why it should not work with Aud...

Re: Too Much DB, Frequency?
When I play the file on windows media player, it sounds really distorted, is this because I have too much DB, or/and Frequency? wot is the best numbers to have it at without it sounding distorted on the player? Look at the Meter Toolbar when you play the project before you export it. Are the red cl...

Re: Audacity vocals recording low fidelity
I am recording from vinyl LP's with audacity. Music is fine, but vocals record at very low volume/fidelity level. Do I need to adjust something? Do you mean the recordings from vinyl are fine, but when you record your own voice from a microphone over the top of the vinyl recording, the vocals are d...
