Re: Not Record from my Synthesizer
I did choose Line-in for my laptop. As far as the Audacity's Edit/References/Recording Device, there is only one locked option there "Sigmatel Microphone/Line-in." My laptop is using one single connector for both microphone and line-in. As long as "line-in" is chosen for my lapt...

Re: After Pause why does Stop move the cursor?
To me this is the "mechanically intuitive" way of doing it. Hover the mouse over the green line of the playback cursor so that the horizontal centre of the I-Beam mouse cursor aligns with the green line. But that's the thing - I can't tell when the I-beam cursor is aligned with the Pause ...

Re: Export quality settings should be more visible
Ok here's more on what happened. I selected "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM" file type. The confusing thing was that other file type options e.g. flac, mp2 etc. don't mention bit rate, so I had just assumed that the 'MS signed 16 bit' part was some form of standard 'WAV on Windows' fil...

Re: Recording from cd-rom drive
Is there some kind of setting I can toggle to let Audacity accept a feed from CD-rom? I tried playing an audio cd and pushing the record button in Audacity, but it didn't work. Undying gratitude for any pointers! Almost no motherboard computer sound devices actually have an input to record directly...

Re: LV2 plugins in Audacity
I would like to know how to load lv2 plugins in Audacity and make them work. In particular I use Audacity 1.3.5 Beta Version on a Linux system. You don't. 1.3.5 is obsolete and doesn't support lv2. I suggest you compile from the current 1.3.12 source tarball (or SVN HEAD) and compile with USE_SLV2 ...

Re: Sample Printer
It probably needs an error forbidding more than 1000 samples. I had to reboot the computer even on 8000 samples on Win 7 x64. Maybe info on the number of channels (when > 1 is supported) and the sample rate would be good to have in the file. I think it's more usual to have time offset information ev...

Re: export waveform Amp vs. time to txt file
How can i any way to export the waveform amplitude vs. time data of a recording to a txt file, in two columns? Something along the lines of how we can export the freq spectrum to a txt file would be helpful. Maybe the file would be unmanageably large, though. Audacity doesn't have that feature yet ...

Re: fyi sound debugging flow chart and info
Thanks, Whomper. IMO we can pass on that chart. 95% of the problems we get are people not being able to record correctly or at all (the Wiki has fairly good coverage there); or people lose sound on the built-in audio device on Windows because they plugged in a USB turntable or USB mic (also covered ...
