Re: Entry Point not Found
When I try to open Audacity it pops up a window saying: audacity.exe - entry point not found The Procedure entry piont ISTHREADDESKTOPComposited could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll. I would assume you are on WIndows XP. Delete DWMAPI.DLL which is the cause of the problem. It...

Re: Odd echoes of recording repeated every 6 secs
Thanks for the answer. So, although you only have one track and are appending to that (so you are not playing anything while recording) you are still getting flashes on the green playback meter while you are recording? And at the exact time these flashes occur, you get part of the current append re...

Re: Sending users to our documentation
The only color from the logo that you could give to the header background would surely be the inner red flash - otherwise you would lose either the blue/black headphones or the yellow flash/waves. The grey background to the yellow waves was in fact the colour used for the trademark. I had to change...

Re: Microphone will not be recognised! Help?
How do you set the "Host?" And also I can't figure out how to set it to Mono. Assuming you are using Audacity 1.3.12, click Edit > Preferences then "Devices" top left. "Host" is the top box, "Recording Channels" the bottom box. You can choose "1 (mono)&q...

Re: Sending users to our documentation
Shall we look at the links in the London Times? The New York times and the Washington Post use a tasteful navy blue for important links, Are we trying to help the less able users? Then the London Times is irrelevant. Their clientele will find the links anyway. they're starting life from a white &qu...

Re: Sending users to our documentation
I've definitely had several users telling me they would never have worked out the white "Advanced Search" was a link - even if underlined. And you have got me on a hobbyhorse as I never liked this background - it isn't a colour that's part of our logo, as Vaughan once pointed out. How abou...

Re: Sending users to our documentation
Can you return the background colour to blue and just make the letters white? Yes, the selective background colour looks terrible doesn't it? And yes, making the links white would be tasteful, and match with "Advanced Search" except that a) it's not the correct colour for a link; b) it's ...

Re: Sending users to our documentation
The text outside the links used to be a pink/purple colour if you recall, and to be seen against the blue it had to be very much more pink than blue. What I think you are suggesting will be less easy to see, and will have the disadvantage that it is no longer an expected colour for a link (plus on t...
