Re: Recording from cd-rom drive
For "free" solutions you can also install Audacity 1.3.12 and FFmpeg then drag the required VOB file (or .mpg file if it's really a data DVD) into Audacity. Dragging the files in won't cause any losses. If you want a freeware easy recorder direct to MP3, try Freecorder . It does grab a dig...

Re: Crash Recovery - Thoroughly Confused
I am VERY sorry to post when you obviously have a wiki article on this exact problem, however my friend and i that have just recorded separate audio files for a radio podcast show we create have had an issue. His Audacity client crashed - he clicked NO on the temporary delete box that popped up. .....

Re: Just installed Audacity and cannot open its Content File
I just installed Audacity 1.2.x onto my PC. As soon as I try to start it, I get a prompt telling me it should be located at a certain ".NKS" file. In this case, on my PC, it states that this particular ".NKS" file is "[not set]Kompakt_Sony_ACID_1.nks". For some reason,...

Re: Problem Recording while Listening to the other tracks
Make sure you haven't got Transport > Sound Activated Recording checked. That will give you the symptoms you describe (with the blue Pause button remaining depressed) if the input is lower than the activation threshold. Otherwise, reboot. If there is still a problem, are you sure the sound device yo...

Re: Audacity and Media Player on Windows 7 notebooks
Thanks for the (clipped at +/-1) 32-bit float waveform in the project you gave a link to. On reflection perhaps I was being too theoretical about the possibility of Audacity having recorded samples above +/-1, because iMic will only record 16-bit in the first place (and on Windows, Audacity can only...

Click Edit > Preferences: Directories to find out where the Audacity temporary folder is, then navigate to that folder in Explorer. You should be able to see that each .au file is 2 MB in size.mr-b wrote:Is there any way of verifying which block size Audacity is using? I couldn't see anything.

Re: Sliding Pitch and Time Crash
Hi Clayton Note that the change removing that empty string I told you about was committed, so you will need to commit against current SVN when you do. Otherwise the empty string will break make on translations. As an aside, is there a reason there is no Preview with TimeScale, like it being too slow...

Re: 78rpm EQ Curve Generator
Hi Irish Thanks for this. Just some off the cuff comments. Path should start with C:/ or it will never be written on WIndows, so for example "C:/Program Files/Audacity/". "/Program Files/Audacity/" will do nothing except write to the current directory. Since this is a type 3 plug...
