Yes if both users have Audacity 1.2.2 or later, if the _data folder is included, and if any imported files are copied into the project. See Sending your work to others.

Re: Any way to recover lost project?

I had a project I'd been working on, but it wouldn't let me save the project, saying my disk was unwritable or full (neither of which is true). So I just left it open. A few hours later I went back to it and suddenly Audacity froze. I had to force quit it. I opened it again and it asked me if I wis...

Re: New noise removal algorithm

If anyone wants to test on Windows 2000 and later, Marco's new algorithm is currently in the Unicode Nightly Build . There is a new "Get Signal Profile" button and a new "Signal Sensitivity" slider. A file to test the noise removal when you capture both the Noise Profile and the ...

Re: Application of effects crashes Audacity 1.3.12-2

I also noticed that whereas About Audacity/Build Information lists libsamplerate under the 'core libraries' heading, the corresponding name in the PCLinuxOS repository is libsamplerate0. Is this variation likely to be significant? The truncation of the 0 in the build information is not significant,...

Re: increasing volume output of an mp3 track

So I wonder: is there some minimum level that's acceptable? Obviously, on the back end you want to get as close to 0Db as you can without distorting, but if you do have a track that's too quiet and Amplifying means bringing in noise, what would be the minimum to amplify to? If you are recording, it...

Re: Application of effects crashes Audacity 1.3.12-2

Gale, I've checked the Audacity download page as suggested, and note that the PCLinuxOS repositories don't go as far back as wxGTK 2.4 - in fact the lowest version is 2.6 and the installed version is 2.8. I'm not a systems specialist, so I am a bit reluctant to dig around in the libraries area, but...

Thanks. I would definitely try it if you wanted to make a script that finds all the images inside the folder structure.

Re: Help Cleaning Up a Slowwwww Track

slowing down a track does not distort it Slowing down a track with Change Speed lowers the pitch. Slowing it down with Change Tempo does not change the pitch, but because it is sound stretching, it does exactly create distortion artifacts, the more so the more extreme the change. Change Tempo uses ...

Re: Compile error SSE

If you look at these search results you will probably find that this is a problem you won't have if you compile the 1.3.12 tarball or SVN HEAD . If you get past the subject problem in 1.2.6 you may run into other issues, and 1.2.6 is no longer being developed so you're really on your own to work rou...
