Re: 1.2.6 noise removal superior to 1.3.6 ??
Comparisons between the Audacity Noise Reduction effect and ReaFir are, I think, only relevant to a point. +1. However ReaFir seems to use spectral subtraction and I know Marco has tried that out with some success. I've got a bit lost in the detail of whether the latest patch with capture of Signal...

Re: Recovering file- I can't even find the "au" things
k-I was able to get them back & *saved* this time. They came back like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/4810369108/ With the file numbers going past 'b00150'. A lot. Would I have to manually 'stitch' them all back together on one line now? The .au files are all in sequential order...

Re: Slow load after ASIO build (Windows 7)
Hi ctrezza I'm not actually a C++ programmer but first off I'll try and build SVN with ASIO support and verify the slow load problem exists on another machine with different hardware. Give me a while though. I only have Realtek built in sound device and a cheap USB sound card so I would try it with ...

Re: Editing audio from a VCD
I have a VCD and I would like to see how I can use Audacity to "remove noise". I just can't open the VCD. I tried importing raw file, but it didn't work. Make sure you are using the current 1.3.12 Beta (Help > About Audacity). If not, download 1.3.12 from our download page . Then install ...

Re: 1.2.6 noise removal superior to 1.3.6 ??
AEN007, If you want support with REAfir, you must ask Cockos, but you may find this page useful. The fundamental reason REAfir doesn't work properly with Audacity (as far as I can see) seems to be that Audacity doesn't support real time effects. Why not try the Nightly Build and see if grabbing the ...

Re: Application of effects crashes Audacity 1.3.12-2
I've tried the test with a 30 sec. tone with tempo shifted by 20%, and the crash happens exactly as before. I tried compiling SVN on Ubuntu 10.04 --with-libsamplerate then generated a 44100 Hz 30 seconds tone and Changed Tempo several times by various amounts. I repeated those tests after changing ...

Re: Recovering file- I can't even find the "au" things
I checked this page for help 1st : http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=CrashRecovery I went to "Edit/ Preferences/ Directories" tab, & did see an 'audacity_temp" file address/ location. But after trying some Audacity recovery program I downloaded, it asked me to make a l...

Re: Audacity Not Recognizing FFMepg Lib.
As it says in the Manual, the FFmpeg libraries will be installed in /usr/local/lib/audacity. That is where you need to install to and browse to.

Yes it still includes Nikolay's patch which you said failed on one occasion to prevent the Timer Record progress dialogue freezing up.waxcylinder wrote:does this nighly build with Marco's noise removal patch also include Nikolay's patch for the Timer Recording "fix"

Re: Audacity v1.3.12-beta Missing Sources
Audacity 1.3.12 beta on Windows 7 64-bit. Sound is an onboard Realtek device. In the drop-down box near the top right which in other incarnations of Audacity would list the mixers, there is only [Master]. and [Master] only, Line-In, Mic, What-You-Hear etc are not available to Audacity. I have to go...
