Re: Multitracking and "dropping in"
I have a stereo track pair and I want to record a third track to accompany it while listening to the stereo track, but the third track can't be done necessarily in one take. When I click on record, Audacity creates a new track and begins recording onto it. Great. But say I want to redo only a porti...

Re: Mixer Toolbar Input Volume affects other programs
Windows 7 64 bit Audacity 1.3.12 The Mixer Toolbar Input Volume Slider affects some inputs to other programs. If the slider is left in an attenuated position, the setting sticks and other programs see that attenuation until Audacity is opened and the slider moverd. This can result in mysterious low...

Re: exporting wav to ulaw
Can you see if the attached plays in your app? It's a file produced by Audacity, but everything before the data chunk has been replaced with that from the file produced by MS Sound Recorder. At the moment I'm wondering if libsndfile which Audacity uses to export WAV really produces compliant G.711 u...

Re: Removing music and keeping vocals
Perhaps if this myth comes up a lot it might be worth adding a "Case 3" Two channel track with center vocals removed - can those vocals be isolated by inverting this against the original, so as to remove the non-vocals? to http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Vocal_Removal . I've p...

Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
Sorry, if I have not been clear. Let me explain what I am doing. I record BBC Radio 3's the proms to listen to next day at work - which necessitates I start the timer count-down upwards of 4 hours in advance as I leave for work (I am in Canada at the moment hence the time delay). I set it to record...

Re: Undo a FIT VERTICALLY
After recording one side of a multi-song record, I do some effects on the whole one-track result and then I split each song into a different track. I would like to FIT WINDOW and FIT VERTICALLY to check the complete picture, and then do additional work on each track individually. I can ZOOM NORMAL ...

Also when you post have you got "Notify me when a reply is posted" checked? This post seems a repeat of

Re: Vocal is not being removed
I am using a Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Audacity 1.3.9 I have followed the instructions as given with Audacity but the vocals are not being removed. I have tried several songs, from my i-tunes library, changed them to mp3 format as requested, and followed through step by step in the Audacity instructions...

Re: Slight lag in OSX
I'm using 1.3.2 Beta on both the PC and Mac, working on the same project in either platform (depending on where I am). You mean 1.3.12 I assume which is the current Beta? I've noticed a millisecond of lag when moving the mouse around in the OSX version, which doesn't seem a pain at first, but then ...

Re: Increaseing audio
I am planning to interview a person using Audacity, when testing the application, I can hear the conversation thru the head phones however it's very low. Is there a way to boost the audio to hear it better with a head phone? Are you conducting this interview with Skype or some other VoIP software? ...
