Re: Insanely Slow Export with Multiple Sample Rates
You haven't really given enough information. What distribution of Linux are you using? What version of Audacity (see Help > About Audacity) and is this a packaged version provided by your distribution or are you compiling Audacity from one of our release tarballs? Also at Help > About Audacity, clic...

Re: Splitting *SOMETIMES* causes half the track to be moved!
This is driving me insane, and it has for some time now. The issue is that, occasionally, I'll want to split a track in half. No problem, I put my cursor where I want it split, then I select "split." About 60% of the time, the track is split. About 40%, the track is not only split, but th...

Re: "Snap To" doesn't (but it used to)
Before I upgraded to 1.3.12 (from 1.3.7, I think), clicking on "Snap To" automatically moved the cursor left to the nearest unit border, if it was not already on one. However, in 1.3.12, the cursor does not move. I hope this is a bug rather than by design. The old behavior was very handy....

Re: cant hear throught my headphones on record mode
Try this Frequently Asked Question. If it doesn't help, give us more to go on like the version of Windows you are using, what input you are trying to record from and how the headphones are connected to the computer.

Re: Spectrum
It is a known bug . We see about one report a month of this problem on Windows 2000 or XP, but it's always been presented as the window being transparent, not a capture. It's possible it could be a video driver issue. Let us know if your other XP machine does it. Please consider checking in Device M...

Re: Audacity record instructions not helpful for me
Are these the instructions you have read? Have you tried recording with .asoundrc instead of Audacity ("Using the ALSA PCM file" in the above link)? You can also run the Windows version of Audacity under WINE and try recording that way. If you need more help please post the contents of Hel...

Re: Error while opening sound device
Can anyone tell me what going here i have check everything Help Please note it isn't helpful to post this here. It would be better to post to the correct forum for your operating system and version of Audacity, so we could give you a targeted answer. Hence the below "canned response". The...

Re: i accidently deleted the shortcuts to my projects
can i open an audacity project that has only the data files? Audacity needs the .aup project file that was created at the same time as the _data folder. If you have that, the project will open even if a shortcut to the .aup file does not exist. If you lack the .aup file, then if it's feasible you c...

<<<One approach may be to generate white noise and apply Effect > Change Speed at -50% a couple of times to it. >>> That's a new one. The generally accepted theatrical version is to subject the white noise to a low pass filter. Maybe the Change Speed is more like a tornado? Someone told me once tha...
