Testers needed for Mac 1.3.13 Alpha to resolve bug fixes
Any volunteers to help test 1.3.13 Alpha on Mac (the latest "nightly" build at the bottom of this list )? This is important so we can confirm bug fixes made are actually working OK on Mac. Bug 30: Unmodified Transport shortcuts write label at cursor position Seems OK on Mac but fix mostly ...

Re: converting 48/96 to 24/48 query
I upgraded to 1.3.12. I can change from 96 to 48 but the resultant wav file is at 16 bit. Any idea how I can keep it to 24 bit? On import into Audacity, a 24-bit WAV file will always import as 32-bit float internal resolution whatever your Default Sample Format settings in the Quality Preferences. ...

Re: Problem importing large files
I only have 32-bit XP, though. Will Audacity still be able to use 64-bit addresses? I don't want to have any unnecessary instabilities by using the beta if I won't be able to get any benefit, working with such big files is unwieldy enough as it is. I tried it on 32-bit XP and it should work OK with...

Re: Editing silent gaps
I don't know what is legal or not, I just download the song. In this case changing the song name to something else then changing it back again doesn't seem illegal to me but I've never given it any thought. "Illegal" in the context I was using means that you can't use those characters bec...

Re: Have to re-install each time
Having purchased an 'EZCAP' device to record vinyl / tapes, I found that it would not run with the software provided on Windows 7. I downloaded Audacity 1.3.12 and it worked fine. When I closed the programme and then opened it again, all looked OK until I recorded. The sound is wierd - clicks / squ...

Re: How to save or export a selection to a new wav file.
I have a win 7 PC. My wife records her line dance lessons (she's a student). She has me start the mp3 player recording when she leaves. (she's very non-tech). I want to take her recorded WAV file into Audacity, cut off the beginning 15 or so minutes and then save the remaining to a WAV or MP3 file....

Re: Editing silent gaps
I originally heard the gap on the MP3 and it was also on the WAV as well. I tried to edit the WAV file but after I saved it and replayed it the gap was still there. This is how I successfully edited it: I edited the gap by deleting the gap and then I saved the file and added a dash one (-1) to the ...

Re: copy and paste track troubles
So I installed Audacity 1.3.12 and copied the tracks, and pasted them. They are all WAV files. They are all mono. They are all 44100Hz. Unfortunately, I didn't have any luck. And is your project rate 44100 Hz bottom left of the Audacity window when you copy and when you paste? Now the copy and past...

Re: background noise with Vista
I have used Audacity with XP and didn't have any problems. I have a new computer that has Vista and have just downloaded Audacity. Unlike with XP, now there is a humm or buzz in the background when recording. I'm using the same mic (I record articles, not music). When I try ''noise reduction' it di...

Re: Problem importing large files
I have exactly the same problem as the OP in this thread: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=591 I have about 700MB total of audio encoded in 48kbps mono, about 32.5hrs total. That is 117 000 seconds x 44100 samples per second if the track says 44100 Hz above the mute/solo butto...
