Re: all of a sudden 1.3beta won't record

Go through the steps here.

If you need more help, tell us how you are recording the cassettes. Is it a USB tape recorder? Or are you connecting the tape recorder to line-in of the computer?

Re: multiple audio tracks (ubuntu 10.04)

Hey, I have a question regarding production using multiple audio tracks. Here's my issue. On a song Im working on, one of my tracks goes on for a measure before I open another track to start the drums. I want my initial track to continue, with the drum track going over the top of it. However, when ...

Re: No sound heard on play back of recorded tracks

In the newer beta version, the microphone slider indicator would be greyed out, not allowing you to individually control it's setting. That's intended, as Bruno explained to you on http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=29655&start=10#p98050 - the fact that it happens means that...

Formants vocaux

Re: How do you install VST plugins?

I've downloaded some Kjaerhus VST plug-in effects, but when I open Audacity, I don't see them on the "Effects" list. I can see the plug-ins in the Audacity plug-ins folder, but I don't see them appearing in Audacity itself. What is the process for installing VST plug-ins? You probably jus...

Re: Link to LAME broken

I attempted to download LAME from http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/lame_enc.dll. Is this link no longer active? The page does not load. When I first tried clicking that link (from this forum topic) it did fail, but it's working now. Please try again. Any referral from an audacityteam.org site should work ...

Re: No sound heard on play back of recorded tracks

Try ALSA: Default as the playback device, or upgrade the Audacity version (your version is obsolete according to the screenshot).

Re: Problem importing large files

I split it into 4 parts, just to be safe. It's running okay, though it takes a while for Audacity to cope just after it's been imported where everything becomes unresponsive, and sometimes navigating around the file can still be a hassle because only parts of the file are in system memory (I'm assu...

Re: "Snap To" doesn't (but it used to)

I only checked with seconds as the time unit (and only twice), but I still find that behaviour buggy in 1.3.7. Yes, checking Snap-to with seconds as the unit does sometimes move back to the nearest unit, but it seems to depend where the cursor was to begin with. Most of the time it moves back a litt...
