Re: Need to record 30 min audio for web upload
In /usr/lib/local/audacity/ I find: libavcodec.52.dylib libavcodec.dylib (an alias) libavformat.52.dylib libavformat.dylib (an alias) libavutil.50.dylib libavutil.dylib (an alias) libmp3lame.dylib So it looks like libspeex is not included on Mac? I've run the standard ffMPEG installer. It seems not...

Re: Low Record Volume in Win7
There is no restriction in Windows 7 I know of why a device can't have a microphone boost. I get a boost (on the Levels tab in "Sound") for the onboard microphone on two different Win 7 computers (Starter and Ultimate Edition). I was assuming that at least for the Lexicon, you had the corr...

Re: Help Recording Stereo Track
Hi, I've been trying to record a stereo track with Audacity 1.3.12 Beta, using a Peavey PV6 USB mixer. Using windows xp, there's an option in the drop down box for recording 2 channels, (stereo), but on my drummer's laptop, there is no stereo option available. I'm not sure if this is a problem with...

Re: My Stereo Mix has no activity in VISTA
Recording "stereo mix" relies on recording from the same device that is playing the music, so to record computer playback with the "Stereo Mix: Realtek High Definition Audio" device you must be playing the audio on that device, not on the USB headset which is a different playback...

Re: Need to record 30 min audio for web upload
Any plans to include speex support in audacity? I think we are still waiting for libsndfile to implement support for it. This was supposed to be quite close five years ago . To be accurate, .spx files can be imported into 1.3.12 on Windows by adding FFmpeg , courtesy of the included libspeex-1.dll....

Re: Testers needed for Mac 1.3.13 Alpha to resolve bug fixes
While it was processing the second track I switched to the window of the first track. Tried to click on the track to select or the toolbar buttons but nothing worked to mouse clicks (I think this is normal behaviour when an effect is being applied to a track). Using space bar to start/stop playing ...

Re: Sliding Pitch and Time Crash
Keep us posted on when you can commit. I don't know if you ever tested really long tracks with Time Scale, but with current SVN it seems a 50 minute stereo track with extreme settings can take getting on for 90 minutes to complete (but doesn't crash). See: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php...

Re: Testers needed for Mac 1.3.13 Alpha to resolve bug fixes
I converted the whole 50 min. 26 second stereo show. -86% tempo and -12% pitch. It took the machine an hour and a half to process, but was still standing when done. And it plays. Great! I'm a bit surprised at the slowness. Applying those settings to a 44100 Hz stereo track 50 minutes long on Window...

Re: Low Record Volume in Win7
And, yes that was the Lexicon mixer, but I also used an mbox2 with the same result. Go to "Sound" in the Windows Control Panel. Select the "Recording" tab. If you right-click over the Lexicon > Properties, is there a "Levels" tab where you can adjust the input volume? ...

Re: Cutting a Song Into Tracks
I'm really new to Audacity so excuse my stupid questions :D. I have an audio file I want to cut up into tracks, so for example if I had an audio file 3:14 long, 0:00-0:45 can be Track1, and then 0:46-1:52 can be another. How could i edit the file and get tracks? Select the region you want for the f...
