Re: Creating Clips
Can Audacity open a local directory of audio files, then create clips of a given length (say 30 sec.) for each file automatically? Audacity Beta has batch processing ability at File > Edit Chains, whereby you could set up a "chain" to import files, apply effects to them and then export th...

Re: Low Record Volume in Win7
I was assuming there wouldn't be a low input problem if you input into the onboard sound device. Are there any problems with the Universal Serial Bus controllers in Windows Device Manager? Can you update the drivers for those controllers or even roll back to previous drivers? Have you tried other sp...

Re: Slowed Time Track doesn't play entire song.
If I want to slow the song down to say, 83%, can you walk me through the steps in "Change Tempo" in Effects? What should my "Percent Change" be in a decimal? Do I need to worry about beats per minute? What should my lenght in seconds be, from what to what? The boxes and the slid...

Re: Amplify settings (2) are always locked together
Please read the Manual . The two boxes are interlinked because the Amplification amount you choose determines the New Peak Amplitude (and vice-versa). Choose which box is easiest according to what you want to do. If you know you want to amplify to -1 dB you thus use the New Peak Amplitude box withou...

Re: Recording Track Names
I am recording music from a digital radio station which displays track information (such as composer, name of piece of music etc) as it is being played. Is there some way of automatically capturing this track information as the music is being recorded on Audacity? No. If you are accessing the strea...

Re: Slowed Time Track doesn't play entire song.
Hi there, I am new to Audacity. I have the new beta 1.3.x. I am trying to slow down the playing speed of a track and put it on my iPod. When I use the Time Track option, I set the speed to 83% on Lower and Upper. When I play it, it sounds perfect, but then ends before the song actually should. The ...

Re: How to piece .au files back together?
How did you save a copy of the project, with File > Save Project As? That's (in principle) the only safe way to do it. If you just made a copy in Explorer and called the .aup file something else, that will only work if you never make further changes to that project. See File Management Tips . When y...

See this FAQ:

Note that you can open projects created in Audacity 1.2 in 1.3, but not the other way around.

Re: Low Record Volume in Win7
Try recording in Audacity 1.2 and in Windows Sound Recorder. If there is the same problem there then have you contacted Lexicon or Avid about it? They may be aware of the reason for the problem. They won't be interested unless you can tell them that the problem is the same whatever the recording sof...

Re: recording level slider problem
I'm using a USB microphone plugged directly into a USB port on my laptop. When I attempt to drag and drop the recording level slider on the toolbar it keeps snapping back to the lowest position no matter what I seem to do. What gives? Audacity can't interface properly with the mic. Is it USB Audio ...
