Re: Recording multiple files
I would like to be able to record in such a way that when the sound starts then the recording starts and when the sound stops the recording stops and moves on to a new file when the sound starts again. You can use Sound Activated Recording to pause/restart recording according to a threshold level o...

Re: Issues when Palm Muting
Are you trying to record against playback of an existing track? If so, try http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Troubleshooting_Recordings#drift Erratic issues like this are most likely to be issues with the drivers of the sound device you are recording with: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Updating_...

Re: Testers needed for Mac 1.3.13 Alpha to resolve bug fixes
I tried to reproduce #30 in 1.3.12-beta but I was unable to. I think I'm not doing the correct procedure to reproduce it... In step 4 it says: 4. Use shortcut to add label at playback position then hit ENTER to confirm label What shortcut shall I use to add label? The one you normally use, or use T...

Re: OS 9 Preferences issues
<<<Linux Ubuntu>>> Will that run on Motorola 68000 architecture? I just took a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_9, saw a lot of PPC machines listed as supported by OS 9 so thought Ubuntu was worth a suggestion. As to your question, no idea without asking an Ubuntu expert, but I would ass...

Re: Labels Gone Crazy
Thanks, cnwtx. I can reproduce it easily on Windows. Did you place the all those labels without zooming in, and then only zoom in after that, as I did? If so, I suspect that's the key to it - most people would zoom to find the place for the next label, so wouldn't come across the problem. It'll be l...

Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
Hi Gale, Many thanks for the explanations. I've been preoccupied at work this past couple of weeks but am back now so will continue testing 1.3.13. I will download today's version of 1.3.13 and will regularly update it as you make changes. I think it now time to figure out how to do the debug testi...

Re: Amplify settings (2) are always locked together
I am not using wav files at all. Just .aup and .flac . In case it's not been mentioned before in this long topic, FLAC supports ReplayGain http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Replay_Gain Yep, I mentioned it in the fifth post in this thread. I find Replay Gain effective for per-track volum...

Playback flashes every 6 seconds when append-recording
I really would like to know why I am seeing the green bars occasionally while I am recording. The red bars that I monitor, I understand, but to the left of them is a set of green bars that are usually off, but occasionally when I am recording a reel-to-reel tape in Audacity, they go "on" ...

Re: listening to music form turntable
I am using Audacity to rip the music from some vinyls; but the only time I can hear the music, is when Audacity is copying it. I can hear other music which is on my hard drive, but not from my turntable. Does anyone know how I can get windows to play these vinyls at anytime, not just when Audacity ...
