MP3 Year tag
On Ubuntu (and quite possibly on Linux generally), the Year tag in MP3s exported from Audacity is not seen by player applications. This happens because we use the deprecated TYER frame for year for backwards compatibility with Windows applications that still use it. How is the situation on Mac? Does...

Re: Cant Locate FFmpeg?
Sorry, I meant Help > Show Log (the same output I asked for in my post before that). Have you tried setting the path to FFmpeg in audacity.cfg using this syntax? [FFmpeg] Enabled=1 FFmpegLibPath=C:Program Files (x86)FFmpeg for Audacityavformat-52.dll It would be a quicker solution if it works. Gale

Re: Slight lag in OSX
Have you made any changes to screen refresh rates? How would I do that? On Mac I don't know, but on Windows every onboard video card I have ever had has a control panel where you can choose refresh rates for the monitor (assuming you install the manufacturer's video drivers). You can also get utili...

Re: audio track appearance
I replied at the same time as Steve, so I'll add that you need to turn the input slider down (by the mic symbol) and/or turn the source you are recording down. The light blue is the average level and is almost filling the screen, so the peak dark blue level above that is hugely above the clipping le...

Re: Cant Locate FFmpeg?
Ok i searched for it, and it seems that Google Chrome and M4A to Mp3 converter by Hootech are the other applications with the avformat-52.dll. So what now? Do i have to delete the file from their locations? Obviously if you don't want those applications to use FFmpeg you can delete their FFmpeg lib...

Re: Exporting to FLAC
Initialising the 1.3 preferences in audacity.cfg after using Audacity 1.2 is probably a good move anyway, but if the toolbars get messed up again and that's the only problem, just click View > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars.

Re: Slight lag in OSX
Oops - I should also mention that I tried a corded mouse, and that wasn't the issue, though it seemed pretty logical. Too, the samples in the video were taken with the same machine (iMac): one on Snow Leopard and the other in emulation. And when editing elsewhere on the PC, I get the same results a...

Re: Display corruption
I can't replicate it on Ubuntu 10.04 (800 x 600 resolution) or Windows 7 (1024 x 768). What is the video card/display adapter? Are you using open source video drivers instead of the manufacturer's drivers?

Re: Effects menu grayed out
1.2.5 is likely to behave very variably on Intel Mac, especially on OS X 10.6. It is close to unusable for some under those circumstances (OS X 10.6 arrived long after Audacity 1.2.5). It would be better to use the current 1.3.12 Beta on the whole. In 1.2 you have to select some audio first by click...
