Re: Help !!!

If you don't get any success with what I'm explaining below, you can make a copy of the .aup file and e-mail it to me together with the complete error log saved as a text file. That might help further discussions. The address is gale_AT_audacityteam_DOT_org (replace _AT_ with "@" and _DOT_...

Re: Cant Locate FFmpeg?

Thanks for the avformat-52.dwi. It only has the same errors that everyone gets and those don't affect Audacity detecting it. Please do remove other instances of FFmpeg if you can and see if it helps. Meantime I'll ask the person who developed FFmpeg support if he has any ideas. What did you want to ...

Re: finer resolution in Silence Finder

I've applied the same modification to the sound-finder plug-in. I don't think that the GUI wording needs to be changed for Sound Finder ( "Minimum duration of silence between sounds [seconds]" Isn't it the same issue, though? "Minimum duration of silence between sounds" conveys ...

Re: Can a couple of Mac people open these Windows projects?

Thanks, Koz. Yes the project with Swedish characters in the project name should be just over a minute of stereo audio with a fade at the end - the track is unselected but about 5 seconds of timeline is selected at the end of the track. I'm guessing now you get silenced audio and no errors opening it...

Re: Silence Finder seems to have a memory leak

Thanks, Edgar. I noted your comments on Bug 86 . I am not really up on VST and don't know which effects those are (I may not have any). Audacity does not ship with any VST plug-ins. See VST Plug-ins if you want to try any. What I would be very interested in knowing is how long a VST plug-in takes to...

Re: Out! Out, I Say!

I used to have a 1.2.4 install. So Audacity didn't create that backup install? I wonder if I triggered a Mac backup or tool nobody knows about. I don't think the .dmg installers have ever provided any kind of back-up (and if they did, it hasn't been removed). Maybe the backup was a free gift when y...

Re: finer resolution in Silence Finder

When dealing with very short time durations it becomes apparent that the "Minimum duration of silence [seconds]" is not the minimum length that will be detected, but is the duration that must be exceeded by the length of the silence. If I generate 2 seconds of silence inside one of the to...

You can now upload a plain text file with .patch extension.

Re: Google Search for Audacity Forum

Have you had a look at the Google webmaster tools? http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ In particular "site maps"? With having the main site, forum and wiki as high ranking sites, the site map tool may help to improve the visibility of the manual. Access to the server is required to us...

Re: Silence Finder seems to have a memory leak

Only Silence Finder, or all Nyquist plug-ins? Perhaps when you know that, add the information to this summary memory leaks bug . Gale I saw the same on all Nyquist plug-ins. Thanks. Do you get the same results with the built-in effects, or VST effects? Bug 86 suggests there is a global (?) problem ...
