Re: Delete between labels
For Edgar's original use-case (discovering a problem while playing), I often find it useful to drag an approximate region out and then adjust its boundaries, so if you label it you are working with one label only. I think it would be better to hold off on this as it is clearly part of our Proposal L...

Re: How can Audacity hobbyist programmers share code?
Edgar, personally I think much of what discourages you is about the lack of time that everyone has given we have a "volunteer" , free of charge "business model". Plus I think there is a degree of (possibly natural) developer elitism that tends to surface because of that lack of t...

Re: Missing section of recording
I think I may have identified the problem. I have iolo System Mechanic installed on my PC and I happen to notice in the last 'failed' recording that the waveform stopped just before this program had kicked in to do it's 'normal' maintenance on my system. Investigating further I noted that one of th...

Re: convert sample rate, bits/sec on writing WAV
I stupidly recorded a concert in WAV format at 192 bits per sec. Now audacity won't write a WAV file at 44.1, which is how I want it! An expert told me later I get best results recording at the intended final result sample size and BPS. Can I recover from my error? Assuming you mean that you want t...

Is there a way to set it so that mono is the default?

Re: Is there a .pdf version of the manual?
Is there a .pdf version of the Audacity Manual, which can be downloaded onto one's computer? Or is the manual online only? There is no .pdf version of the 1.3 Manual unfortunately. As it says on the front page of the online Manual , if you download the installer (.exe) version of Audacity it includ...

Re: Recovering data
I saved a multitrack recording in Audacity 1.3.8 and when I went to open it later all the data was gone. (It just showed all the tracks data as a flat line). All the tracks are saved in the data folder as 6 sec. clips of audio. How do put all the data back to together for each track? The song has l...
