Please let us know if disabling the "SyncMaster-4" playback device permanently solves it. I wondered with a name like that if it was the cause, but in principle if it is merely an HDMI output it should not make any difference if it is not connected.

Re: Audacity records my gameplay
I read what you said and you just said "turn down" which might mean you can still hear the game quietly (you said you listen to the game sounds, which also implies that).Poiss123 wrote:I did say I believe that I turn down the output volume so I don't hear it

Re: Audacity records my gameplay
Choose the "Microphone (Realtek High Defini" recording device and "Realtek HD Audio 2nd output (Re" as playback device in Audacity's Device Toolbar . What happens if you turn down the audio volume of the Realtek 2nd output so you can't hear it at all? If the game is still in the ...

Re: Audacity records my gameplay
Thanks for the file. What is the "SyncMaster-4" output device? Is it a second physical output port on the computer and is it the HDMI output for connecting to a TV? How many plugs does the headset have? Descriptions I have seen say one plug, but some pictures show two plugs. And which port...

No. Please save as a file and attach it so we see the complete Audio Device Info. Click OK in Audio Device Info then it will offer to save a file. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 49&t=64936.Poiss123 wrote:Is it enough?

Re: Dropout detection
When recording from youtube, the audio does not come from audio card, but from Firefox via Windows Wasapi. Stutter comes when network has lag, or when Windows decides to run background processes (10+ counted so far) at top priority, or when background programs uses the disk at top speed. See if the...

Re: Questions about maintaining audio quality when exporting
I'm very stubborn about the fades so programs that allow for limited editing don't work. The applications we mention do allow fades. Have you tried them? But you can't for example change the equalization with those tools. If I do the fade with Audacity, export it as a WAV, and re-compress that WAV ...

Re: Questions about maintaining audio quality when exporting
Try MP3DirectCut . It can do limited editing on MP3 & AAC files without de-compressing/re-compressing. Oops I thought FMPIV was on Mac. Sorry. If you have MP4/M4A files, MP3DirectCut requires you to extract the audio to raw AAC , then convert back. There is a free trial of MP3 True Edit which a...

Re: Dropout detection
One of the Audacity developers (James) thinks we could detect dropped samples during recording but I don't recall details.

Re: Cannot Record, though Settings Not Changed
Rebooting, or restarting Audacity might help. Some other application could have changed settings in Windows Sound.
