Re: Input volume too high - clipping
Upgrade to Audacity 1.2.6 (the current 1.2 version): http://audacityteam.org/download/windows Look under the turntable chassis for any gain knob there might be. To turn the input level down in Windows, Start > (Settings) > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio devices. ...

Re: Decode tapes using Dolby Noise Reduction
<<<I only ever knew one plug-in that attempted Dolby de-emphasis but that is no-longer available. >>> Under what circumstances? Don't know what you mean by "circumstances", and I don't have any details to hand, but the plug-in claimed to do downward expansion of the quieter high frequenci...

Re: Decode tapes using Dolby Noise Reduction
I have several reel to reel tapes that have been encoded with dolby noise reduction B, but do not have a machine that will decode it. I'd like to make digital copies with Audacity, and am wondering if there are any plug-ins or any other means to achieve this without having to buy a machine with dol...

Re: Updated Sound Finder
I quite like the way Regular Interval Labels does it. If the label text box is empty the number only is produced; if the label text box has text, the text is appended to the number. Regular Interval Labels also has an option of whether to use numbers or just the text. Would we want that? Personally...

Re: delete does not work ... sometimes
Can you perform any other edits such as Edit > Split New or Effect > Amplify on that region when it happens or are all the menus frozen? Are you editing at the end of the project when this happens? If so and this is a saved project, does quitting Audacity then setting h to "0.0000000000" i...

Re: Updated Sound Finder
I didn't have any errors with the new Sound Finder 23-Sept-10 (can we standardise on months having three character abbreviations)? Did we decide that we wanted the plug-in to be capable of finer precision, but that the GUI would still have a minimum silence setting of 0.1 seconds? Yes that was my un...
