Re: delete does not work ... sometimes

Can you perform any other edits such as Edit > Split New or Effect > Amplify on that region when it happens or are all the menus frozen? All items from the "Edit" menue are greyed out when it happens, so guess thats frozen. Bevor I run into that "not able to delete" problem, all...

Re: Updated Sound Finder

...Jeremy's Sound Finder was clearly a modified version of the Silence Finder code, but they provide distinctly different functions in that one marks silence and the other marks sound. So do we keep both names in the ;info, or just Alex, or just Jeremy? I would say "By Jeremy Brown, http://www...

Re: delete does not work ... sometimes

Have you got Audio Cache enabled in the Directories preferences?

If not, it would be best to get the audacity-dbg package from System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager, start Audacity from a terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) then provide a backtrace.

Re: Decode tapes using Dolby Noise Reduction

That said, you can probably get Dolby-B tape decks fairly cheaply on eBay. Gale Dolby B reel-to-reel decks? Yes I've definitely seen them from time to time and they were (when I saw them) pretty inexpensive (under $100). There is a (Dolby version not specified) reel-to-reel tape recorder on eBay he...

Re: Annoying problem when changing playback spead

I have several long files that were recorded on portable digital recorders. I've tried changing the playback speed to skim through the files, but when I get to a part I want to edit, and change the spead back to normal, it unselects everything I've selected, and moves the cursor back to 0000. What ...

Re: DVD audio ripper

Does anyone know of a -- ideally FREE -- program that would rip the audio track from a DVD as a WAV file? DVD Decrypter (free) will demux the original audio to the original file format such as AC3. You can convert the demuxed format to WAV in lots of free tools like SUPER . Alternatively install FF...
