Re: six pages of spam - cant find real messages
Just to let you know I got my ip blocked again... Looks like it went into the PBL list this time... No use in resetting my modem, because they blocked an entire class B equiv. range of ips, so probably all my isp's ips are blocked... These spam lists kind of... get on my nerves... just because some...

Re: Recovering data..confused
Please make sure you post to the correct forum for the version of Audacity you are using. You posted to the 1.2.X Forum so I have moved it here to the correct 1.3.X Forum. I recorded a lecture on audacity and I saved it. But unfortunately whenever I play it, it gives me the following message. it say...

Re: Sharing Web Link Button ?
hey does Audacity have any web button link icons for people to use for promoting the program and that you use it ? Yes this is fine as long as there is no adult or illegal content (such as pirated software) on your site. The first time you mention the word "Audacity" on your page, please ...

Re: Compiling on Ubuntu 10 (Lucid and Maverick)
Al has committed a better fix ( r10744 ) that makes the toolbar slider backgrounds match the toolbar body colour without producing the background mismatch for the sliders in the Track Control Panel. Richard has committed a fix ( r10743 ) for the need to run CONFIG_SHELL=/bin/sh ./configure on Ubuntu...

Re: Annoying problem when changing playback spead
The only downside is that to undo the Change Speed when you want to export at the real speed, you need to work out the maths to slow down the track to original speed (for example, a 100% speed change will halve the track length/double the playback speed, but to restore the original track length/spe...

Re: Compiling on Ubuntu 10 (Lucid and Maverick)
A colour problem that seems more critical is that with the default Ubuntu 10.10 theme the play speed of the transcription tool is unreadable without double clicking to open the text input. Thanks, Steve. It affects all the "click-to-see-value" slider tooltips. It happens the same way on W...

Re: Audacity takes an age to load up, then crashes. ALSO..
Without finding and installing 100 unique AU plugins I can't stress test the addition of AU effects to the Effects menu. Thanks, Bill. So I assume you did not see a scanning dialogue for AUs at any time? This may only appear after a certain time has elapsed, I guess. So it remains a mystery to some...

Re: Compiling on Ubuntu 10 (Lucid and Maverick)
The colours of the sliders for the mixer toolbar and the transcription toolbar are incorrect in Audacity 1.3.12 beta and 1.3.13 (up to and including the current r10736 October 17th 2010) To fix this issue apply this patch in similar fashion with patch -p2 < fix-slider-background-color.patch fix-sli...

Re: Annoying problem when changing playback spead
If you change the rate using the track drop down menu, then the start position stays at the same absolute time. So if the playback cursor was at 3:00, then it will stay at 3:00, but this will of course correspond to a different position in the audio. I don't think there is any way to maintain the s...
