Re: Binaural Tones with Surf 2

My preference is for the "old" version. I don't know a lot about how people want to use binaural tones, but I suspect in many cases they would want either a constant beat frequency, or a "sliding" beat frequency that starts at one speed and ends at another. Either of these can b...

Re: Help/ Error Screens with multiple selected tracks

Apart from the "Help" screens, the other irritation is error notifications that report user input errors as a result of the author's error checking code. As with "Help" screens, I would imagine only one "notification" would actually be needed. I agree if nothing can be ...

Re: Can't record

See Troubleshooting Recordings . If you still can't get any audio programs to record, go to Sounds and Audio Devices and select the line-in or microphone there. If that does not work, reinstall the audio device using the drivers CD that came with the computer. If that doesn't work, see if you can ge...

Re: W. 7 & AUDACITY BETA RECORDING input dropdown menu ques

Please read this WIki Mixer Toolbar article as far down as the section for Windows XP. Yes Mixer Toolbar input selector always says "Master" or is greyed out on Vista and 7, so you always have to select devices in Audacity Preferences, after having enabled them in "Sound" in the ...

Re: FFMPEG libraries keep getting 'lost'

Thanks for the report. I downloaded a free trial of "Sony Vegas Movie Maker Platinum HD ver 10" on Windows 7 x64. I don't know how crippled the trial is but the only way I could use its "Open in Audio Editor" feature was to import a file, select it then right-click > Open in Trim...

Re: Get error message when I use save as (Linux)

I've got the Audacity project you sent me a link for (http://www.sendspace.com/file/kgchxu) - the project itself "milton.aup" plays fine and can be saved as "m.aup" on Windows 7 in 1.3.13 using File > Save Project As. Not tried on Ubuntu yet (I have 10.10, not 9.10). Can you prov...

Re: Binaural Tones with Surf 2

A while back I ... wrote a simple "Binaural Tone" generator. It was a much more simple effect than the one by David Sky and simply produce a stereo pair of tones at appropriate (sliding) frequencies to create beats that could begin at one frequency and end at another (or the same) frequen...

Help/ Error Screens with multiple selected tracks

If you have x selected tracks you get x instances of a Help or Error screen (though fortunately only one per stereo selected track).

Is this potentially fixable - so a candidate for the Nyquist Wish List ?

Re: SVN HEAD and non-English system locales

I figured out what was the problem with my "suffixed build". Looks like adding a suffix changes a lot of things, not only the binary name(*). It appears that the ~/.audacity-data directory also changes name to ~/.audacity-suffix-data. Copying my audacity.cfg file to that new directory all...
