Re: can not import audio files

patch -p0 < audacity-system-ffmpeg3.patch chmod +x autogen.sh ./autogen.sh ./configure --disable-dynamic-loading make I'm not getting very far with this patch possibly because I am not getting autogen.sh to work. I'm not sure why the above would work unless an autogen.sh was actually in the audacit...

Hello Gale, < ... so In the "Realtek" Control Panel, I would suggest clicking the "Speakers" tab and turning up the right-hand slider for "Main Volume" to as loud as it's comfortable to listen to. > Do you mean I should set this to max. every time I wish to make a reco...

Re: Export Multiple Fails

Hey, I finally figured out how to make it work! I used the format where you connect the lines in between the song labels and it exported each individual track! Yippeee! That means that those labels in your screen shot - which appear to be "point" labels - are actually "region" l...

Re: Warnings on launching SVN HEAD

I'm getting errors when recording using a debug build. The errors occur when the cursor reaches the end of the screen and the screen is redrawn. They sometimes result in Audacity freezing. Is Software Playthrough and/or Overdub enabled? What do the errors say? Are the errors repeatable, but not the...

Re: can not import audio files

Try importing using Audacity 1.3.12 with the latest git FFmpeg and Audacity reports: "/home/.../rest.ac3" is a Dolby Digital audio file. Audacity cannot currently open this type of file. You need to convert it to a supported audio format, such as WAV or AIFF. ... With Audacity 1.3.13 and ...

Re: can not import audio files

First problem was that I seemingly removed too much of Ubuntu FFmpeg - I reinstalled it using Synaptic but when I configured the Audacity build --with-ffmpeg=system there was a configure error that said there was no system library. It is very easy to install all build dependencies for audacity on D...

Warnings on launching SVN HEAD

"Expression 'stream->capture.pcm' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c', line: 3857" and other warnings are being reported when launching SVN HEAD from the console, but not when launching 1.3.12. See Bug 267 . I think these may come from the recent PortAudio update, and that the &qu...

Re: Input Volume Way Too High In Ubuntu 10.10

It seems to me that all sound is pretty quiet unless it is cranked way up (as compared to my ancient Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, which I hated to give up), but any sound level above 'unamplified' in sound preferences gains a tinny note at first which grows exponentially to a pure shriek, as if a thous...
