Re: Audacity interface naming question.
Do you still want me to put a link to the Forum in the Manual? I think we need a link, but I'm not sure if it should be in the Sidebar - if it is, it has implications for the offline manual that is included in the downloads. There already is one Gale :) It is on this page: http://manual.audacitytea...

Re: Audacity interface naming question.
I hope to be able to change your mind and get you to support this proposed change. I've trimmed the text on all lines where needed (not just for your tutorials) so there is now no overflow (here, anyway) at 1024 x 768 (second TOC underneath yours): version 2 I'm not sure you need any text descripti...

Re: Where is Apple Lossless Encoder?
Thanks Gale, that looks clearer. There's a couple of little comments that I'd like to make re. the exact wording of the text. Should I post that here, on the wiki discussion page, or as in-line <!-- comments --> You may as well make them here since we started this here. But it was only chance I happ...

Re: MME or Windows DirectSound
MME and Windows DirectSound are audio API's . Have you looked in the Manual ? Also there is an article here that gives you some basics though it's now out of date. Since that article was written, Vista and 7 have appeared with a new WASAPI API. That has an "exclusive mode" that provides th...

Re: Unable to open target file for writing
the title of my file is forum, so why can't it open a target file? Help!!!! Are you doing an Export Multiple when you get the error message, or when saving the project? If you get the message when doing export multiple, do any of the labels have the "/" character in them? I understood tha...

Re: What went wrong? Recover temp files manually?
When I recorded a simple conversation in Audacity, I got a message that Windows had to shut Audacity down. I had not imported or saved anything. The error message said I could recover the file manually. So, how do I do it? I was not given the chance to do anything but close out Audacity and check t...

Re: Please I could help myself in Audacity with columns PLEO
Your PLEOMAX PSP 7000B USB speakers are a separate playback device, You can probably record computer playback using the built-in sound device, but to do that the audio must be playing on the built-in sound device . You have to try Virtual Audio Cable on Windows or JACK on Linux or Soundflower on Mac...

Re: Please check the input device settings & project sample
I recently had a lot of trouble using Audacity after upgrading from Vista to W7. I found that I could no longer record tracks on existing and new projects and would receive this message "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate."...
