Re: Batch Noise Reduction
Sox has a "noisered" filter. The "noisered" filter in SoX has the same limitation as Audacity in that it requires a noise profile, so either there is the problem of creating a noise profile for each audio file, or using a "generic" noise profile. I don't follow. Appare...

Re: Exporting in format AMR
I needed to export an mp3 file in format AMR and I did not success with Audacity 1.3.12.7 running with Ubuntu 10.10, while I had success with the same version of Audacity running in Windows 7. I can't explain this behaviour, since I am confident to have loaded correctly FFmpeg library (I followed t...

Re: Colour "Wave" Theme
Hi, Do to my current vision impairment it is difficult to see the blue wave on the white background. Is it possible to switch this around so it is a blue background with a white wave? Or any dark background with a light wave colour? Unfortunately the Audacity colour scheme isn't configurable in any...

Re: Batch Noise Reduction
I was wondering if it was possible to do noise reduction as a batch job (e.g. for >100 files) in audacity? Alternately, is it possible to tweak sox -- or another program -- to perform similarly? Audacity's algorithm (or at least settings) seems significantly better, but finding a period of silence ...

Re: Audacity interface naming question.
I've applied the interim changes to the Manual. @ Peter:I thought you were quite serious about an image - asking for an extreme image in order to get a more subtle one approved  ? Just as users like big green download buttons, I think they might appreciate stronger signposting for the tutoria...

Re: 1.3.11 won't open
I'd attack the problem in a different order: 1) If you don't want to use AU and VST effects in Audacity, edit/create audacity.cfg as outlined below, and remove any VST effects (<filename>.vst) from the Audacity "plug-ins" folder (it's actually lower-case on Mac) . This avoids the bear-tra...

Re: Audacity Production, but not on this machine..
Doing so means that Audacity will save the latest captured noise profile as a noisegate.nrp file in the "NRP" folder in your Audacity data folder: That's good to know. Why is it called CleanSpeech and why doesn't is always do that and just keep overwriting one file in normal use? First Bi...

Re: Background color
Unfortunately I don't know much about Theming and colours. From the comment above this line: //pPage->SetBackgroundColour( theTheme.Colour( clrDark )); that code is commented out because it can lead to the scroller background being painted as clrDark. So the intention of enabling that line is *not* ...

Re: Spoken movie subtitles?
I really do not have to use a text editor other than Microsoft Notepad (Version 5.1 ... ) which is part of my Windows XP SP2. And I do not remember that I installed anything special to upgrade it. This is part of its Save As window... I agree that following your instructions to the letter (File > S...

Re: Trying to use the "Vocoder" effect
I did a search in the Audacity manual and somehow didn't get or didn't see the info about the Vocoder. Search on the Wikis (the Manual is a wiki too) does need improving but it seems to find Vocoder OK: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Special:Search?search=vocoder If I install the v1.3.13 alpha ...
