Re: Interesting problem
The current Audacity Beta is 1.3.12 - assuming you mean you have 1.3.0, please upgrade: http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-win-unicode-1.3.12.exe What type of WAV are you exporting from Audacity? PCM WAV files are usually MB or GB in size. If it works with the older script, can you go bac...

Re: FFMpeg
Thanks, Benjamin. I'm glad (in a way) that you can replicate the problem. Sad that it seems to be with export as well as import. So are you satisfied this is to do with the version of FFmpeg and not to do with configuring/compiling Audacity? I already tested patching Audacity for the av-match-ext an...

Re: "Error while opening sound device..."
Try setting the project rate bottom left of the Audacity window to the value it was before the problem started. 44100 Hz usually works. Try recording mono instead of stereo (in the Audacity Devices Preferences). Try exiting Audacity and resetting the audacity.cfg settings file by opening it in a tex...

Re: Playing MP3 files from the Internet
I installed the Audacity beta for Windows Vista. I set it up according to instructions. Everything with the program I have used works properly thus far. My problem is this--when I go to the internet to the web page I maintain, I can no longer play my Audio MP3 files on the web page. It wants me to ...

Re: Installing Lame ... again
The zip (with the instructions to rebuild it) is only really there because some people find it more likely to work than the dll that is in the installer. There are even some cases in reverse (the installer works but the zip doesn't). It's true that lame_enc.dll in the zip is larger than the one in t...

Re: Audio Volume is too Low
Do you mean you are recording a pre-existing YouTube video made by someone else, or making a YouTube video yourself? If the latter, how are you recording the video or audio? What version of Windows are you on? Have you tried going to the Windows Control Panel and turning up the mic input level and/o...

Re: Don't hear what I'm importing to Audacity
This is my first time out with Audacity. Lots to learn. Win XP Pro. I was able to hook up my cassette player to the Line In on my computer. I started the tape and saw the meters (on the right) deflecting in Audacity. The program was hearing music. The problem is, I don't hear any music. I want/need...

Re: keyboard shortcuts for Fade In/Out
Thanks, Ed. I guess it may be an idea to move this to General Audio Programming if there are no comments/new votes for effects shortcuts after a month has passed?

Re: cant here myself
I'm a new user and I'm trying to record audio but can't here my self in my headphones. I'm using a usb mic w headphones. If it's a USB headset combining mic and headphones, all you can do is turn on software playthrough in the Audacity Preferences. This will have significant delay. A few more expen...
