Re: LAME vbr mp3 export wasting space
When you export from Audacity the source data is not identical to when you encode an exported wav file. Yes, that is an additional factor, it seems. If I export (using the standard "MP3 files" choice) a WAV as "Standard Preset, fast, stereo", this consistently produces 1 kbps hi...

Re: Export MP3 through chain settings
Weird place for such a setting, shouldn't this be set in parameters ? I agree. This has been mentioned previously but it's not yet on the "Feature Requests" page of the Audacity wiki. It does have some votes but they were on a separate "Automation" wiki page for more advanced au...

Re: Integrating Audacity in a commercial product
Hi Ed,
I'll pass your ideas on and we'll take it from there. Is there any time scale for when you must start on this? Even if we are interested, we do have a pressing need at the moment to get our Beta version released as a new 2.0 stable.

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
I attached a wav file with an artificial spike (10 ms white noise) generated into it. You mean 10 samples of white noise? Yes, for very short clicks the Click Removal effect is much better, but with clicks of 10 milliseconds or more, Click Removal will hardly touch them, and that's where "Pop ...

Re: Multi-channel Recording in Audacity
The output I hear through my speakers from the mixer is a mixed signal from both turntables. Then can you plug that output into a line-in input in the computer and record from that? Other possibilities (apart from compiling Audacity with ASIO support) could be (long shot) to try the Windows DirectS...

Re: Using Synthesizer (m-audio Uno) and Audacity
If the Uno sends MIDI output as it appears, Audacity can't work with it because it needs audio input. See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Trans ... _equipment

Re: PopMute Before and After
There's been no comments regarding the "Linked Stereo" mode, so I'm guessing that it's not really useful. I've removed the "Linked Stereo" option in this version, though it can easily be re-enabled (open popmute.ny in a text editor and read the comment text near the top of the f...

Re: Correction dictaphone record
The recording was made at a lecture. Accordingly, many different kinds of loud, sharp noise (dropping a pen, clicks, etc). Question: How can i cut this noise, "one click" It will be very difficult to remove arbitrary extraneous noises like that without damaging the rest of the audio. Tr...

Re: ITU-T mu law newbee question
Is there a way to get Audacity to record .wav files in the ITU-T mu law 8Khz/8bit format? I need to record messages for use with a Cisco callmanager. Audacity never records in less than 16-bit PCM quality. If you want to encode in compliant G.711 U-/A-Law 8 kHz/8-bit that Cisco applications will un...

See http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=editing&i=join. You can see the current shortcuts in the Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste menus (normally CTRL + C and CTRL + V respectively).
