Re: Major Bug!!! Crashed on start after opening saved file..

The selection, vertical and horizontal position and zoom level values were all corrupted so I replaced them with values that allow the project to open. Please open your project with the attached .aup file. There are 6 files reported as "orphans" which means they are inside the Ian4_data fo...

Re: LAME vbr mp3 export wasting space

aren't the presets meant to be used without any other option, I mean aren't they optimized for best performance at the chosen quality setting? I would have said arguments that don't conflict are valid. As the Lame command line front end appears to be better optimised, wouldn't it be simpler to just...

Re: playback it extremely quiet, please help me.

I'm using windows 7 home basic. I have my guitar setup is this: guitar plugged into input of the amp, then the output of the amp is connected the the microphone jack of my computer using a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. I would expect that to likely give you mono and/or too loud recording, unless you have (or...

Re: How to reuse Audacity for other projects

I would like to reuse Audacity's functions for playing, recording and displaying the waveform. However, I am not sure how to do it as it integrates with wxwidgets. I am building a C# windows application and I am trying to compile Audacity into a dll so that I can integrate it into my program. To ge...

Re: Major Bug!!! Crashed on start after opening saved file..

Ok, so I completed an ENTIRE song, literally was just about done tweaking the levels, when I was trying to zoom out by pressing ctrl+mouse scroll up. I guess I went too far out and everything went blank. I could not get it back no matter which way I scrolled. I closed it out and of course it autosa...

Re: 64 bit Windows and Beta Version

Audacity is only 32-bit. The 64-bit components that are needed are the drivers for the sound device (both the Realtek device and the turntable). If you purchased the laptop from a computer store and it has a Windows 7 sticker on it then most likely the Realtek drivers will be correct 64-bit drivers ...

Please try the instructions here:

If the versions of lame_enc.dll mentioned there are still not recognised, try this one instead.

Re: Undo/Redo shows list of commands

"undo" is not the only reason to go looking at the history trail WC True, it can be useful for checking by how much you amplified three effects ago, and how much disk space the ability to undo previous changes is taking up. But the main purpose is I think to undo multiple steps at once an...

Re: Undo/Redo shows list of commands

I would guess one reason for not calling it "Undo History" might be that "Undo" could also be a verb (which it is in "Show Clipping" in the same menu). I think some people would still miss it if it was called "Undo History" because they are looking for a word ...
