Re: Categorizing Effects - Again

@Solanus, Thanks for adding your vote to Feature Requests on the Wiki. We do have a system for moving votes and requests there, so Peter won't be adding further votes for this to Wiki unless others add their votes here. Just my own comment - while this is an interesting idea, I think it would be eve...

Re: Audacity can't find ffmpeg and lame files

I assume you got "required to proceed" when you tried to export to an FFmpeg format. That is expected because unlike LAME, FFmpeg is not detected automatically in 1.3.12 without loading it in the Import / Export Preferences. If you click "Locate" in those Preferences and the gods...

Re: Audio Manipulation in C++

James,

Mac developers rarely hang round on the Forum. You could try subscribing to audacity-devel mailing list and asking (gently) for a few pointers. We are very busy working up to a new 1.3.13 Beta release.

Thanks

Re: Fade sound and transfer file to PowerPoint

1 Click in the track at 13 minutes.
2 Hold SHIFT on your keyboard, press END, then click Edit > Delete.
3 Click in the track where you want to start your fade (for example at 12 minutes 50 seconds) then click Effect > Fade Out.
4 File > Export as WAV.

Devi parlare in *inglese* su questo forum. Se si desidera esportare un piccolo pezzo di traccia, selezionarlo e File > Exporta Selezione. Si desidera che il pezzo da solo in una nuova traccia, Modifica > Duplica. You have to speak in *English* on this forum. If you want to export a small piece of tr...

Re: 1.3.11 won't open

I think case 2) - if user is happy to lose the offending effects for all apps - should be largely common sense for both Windows (VST only) and Mac, once user is pointed to the system folders and told the procedure. If user wants VST in Audacity, has identified the offending VST effects but wants th...

Re: exporting wav to ulaw

It would seem that when Leland and Erik corresponded, there was a bit of a misunderstanding about what the problem was, however libsndfile 1.0.24 which is to be released soon will change to using an 18 byte fmt chunk for U-Law and A-Law files with WAV headers. It isn't quite clear yet whether we can...
